About this mod
Store your stuff in the workbench from anywhere in the Commonwealth.
- Permissions and credits
If you chose to use the 2nd file all you have to do is open the console command and type in BAT STUCK and it will close your current window and teleport you to the same place, effectively reloading the area. This is also great if you get stuck in a dialog that won't close. NOTE: the Stuck file works fine with or without the original file.
NOTE: my "mods" are batch files. Meaning they only use existing in-game commands, also known as "vanilla assets". They do not use an ESP slot, have no known compatibility / conflict issues, and are perfectly safe to install or remove without damaging your save files.
There are tons of great mods out there to help you deal with the desire to collect every piece of scrap in the commonwealth which isn't nailed down. Some of these mods are very immersive, such as excellent backpack and salvage beacon mods, and some mods are perhaps a little less immersive like the various weightless mods, etc.
The problem is sometimes carrying too much stuff can lead to CTD and file save bloat due to what appears to be a memory issue from carrying around a metric ton of crap in your inventory. I'm not a programmer and I don't pretend to understand how all of this works under the hood, but I've seen it enough times to know it is a problem I want to avoid if at all possible.
So I created this file which allows you to open either the Sanctuary WorkBench, or the Castle Workbench, from anywhere in the CommonWealth so you can drop off your junk, weapons, whatever. Now you are unburdened and can go back to blasting bad guys and blowing shit up!
This also means you don't have to resort to console commands like Toggle God Mode (TGM) just to fast travel back to the settlement and drop off your stuff only to have to turn around and come right back.
Permissions: feel free to do anything you like with it, no permissions are needed.
INSTALLATION & USE: bat files are easy as hell to install, literally all you do is download the file, unzip it and and drop it into your Fallout 4 > Data folder. Then to use them just hit your tilde key (found just below ESC on most american keyboards) and type in BAT S-STORAGE for Sanctuary or BAT C-STORAGE for Castle and it will open the respective workbench from anywhere in the commonwealth. Yes I've tested this. Yes it works fine. No it should not conflict with anything because it is simply manipulating an in game command.
If you would like a much more immersive way of doing pretty much the same thing, I highly recommend using the excellent mod: Salvage Beacons (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18757) This mod is really well done and I've personally never ran into any bugs using it.
