About this mod
This mod replaces many of the billboards , posters and Bus Stops images in the game . The objective is to add more visual and thematic variety .

DECADENT VERSION OF THE MOD HAS BEEN UPLOADED . LOOK FOR DETAILS UNDER OPTIONAL .
WHAT IT IS
The objective of this mod is to replace approximately 75 % of the vanilla billboards and posters with lore friendly alternatives . I only replaced the images that I dislike and those that I consider are repeated too often. This is obviously a matter of personal taste. If you dislike something in my mod just delete it (first learn how to do that).
WHY i did this mod :
- To add more variety to the propaganda and advertisement that are displayed ingame .
- To replace images that i consider unappealing , bland ( who would feel tempted to smoke by an add like the one for Grey Tortoise ? ) .
- For a nation that is at war and that oppresses its citizens there is very few propaganda . Also , for a war economy , there is no mention of things like food rationing , and salvaging materials ( common themes in WW2 propaganda ) .
-I wanted to add some relevant aspects of Fallout lore to the game ( the fear of a biological weapon attack coming from China , the New Plague , etc. )
- A hero team like The Unstoppables reflect modern day society , not mid century America . The inclusive nature of The Unstoppables feels out of place , and that is why i removed the posters and billboards referring to them .
Performance
I have a 960 gtx 2 gb, 8 gb ram and the game is installed in a SSD ; my settings are in ultra , I don't have many mods installed ( the biggest is Vivid Fallout which I highly recommend ) and performance is tolerable , rarely dropping below 30 fps ( areas with a high concentration of buildings are the worse ) . With my mod installed I don't notice any degradation in performance , and if it exists I'm sure it´s minimal .
OPTIONAL
DECADENT VERSION
- The difference between the decadent version and the 1.2 version of this mod is that the decadent version looks more degraded , with higher contrast and muted colors . For me this additional degradation fits the game better , but in the end , it's a matter of taste .
Decadent signs
- Replaces some signs and other little details that i considered distracting because of their vivid colors . These textures are already included in the decadent version .
Far Harbor
- Replaces the billboards and posters that are exclusive to Far Harbor . The labels on the Vim bottles were also replaced .
Generic posters
- I created the invisible texture for the generic posters ( they are the last images that i uploaded ) because in the past from time to time i would be distracted by how ugly and low res this textures are and how often they would be repeated . When I started using the invisible texture the only times i would notice the absence of the generic posters would be on the boards but nowadays I don't miss them at all .
Higher resolution labels for the beer , wine, vodka , whiskey , and bourbon
- Beer - I decided not to simulate a degraded paper label because the label shines as much as the rest of the bottle . Instead of fighting this , i embraced it as if the botle was created with an image imbued in it . It was made in the year 2077 , so the technology was there .
- Wine , Vodka , Whiskey and Bourbon - I decided to make the whiskey and vodka American made , because I think that with the scarcity of fuel it would be unlikely that the government would allow the importation of big amounts of vodka from Russia ( a communist power ) and even more unlikely that you would get whiskey from Ireland ( at that time Europe was in chaos ) . The wine and bourbon labels were remade because i consider the vanilla textures really boring .

- This is the metal background I created for my textures and for the best results you should use it . The downside of using this texture is that it doesn't work very well with the vanilla billboard textures . See the screenshots and see what it is and if it's worth it .
