This mod is abandoned and now open sourced.
Stop posting bugs here, we are not going to fix them.

There are two legacy continuation mods for this project:
- Optimization and Compatibility for South of The Sea (SOTS)? by mith077 Which fixes and expands the content presented in 1.00 in line with our original plans. It requires 1.00 of this mod and the new mod.
- South of the Sea - Atoms Storm? is a continuation and remix of the mod, it is more story driven and self-contained, it does NOT require this mod to work, as it is a stand-alone branch of SOTS.
- Do not install 1.5 unless you want to use that one by itself (not recommended); the content from 1.5 is in both of the above fixed versions.
Both mods above fix the issues with this one, DO NOT USE SOTS WITHOUT ONE OR THE OTHER, do not use both. We still will not
be taking back up work on this mod, not unless there is a new version of Fallout 4 released or something, like they did with skyrim.

What is this exactly?
This mod is mostly dungeons, like AWOP for NV is. We had quests/dialogue stuff in the works and it's still in the files just not connected, but the dungeons are still complex, big, and fun!
Is Cerberus or Elysium in the mod?
no, we never finished that.
Does this alter the swamps area to the southeast?
Yes, extensively.
Does this cause CTDs?
no, not unless there is a conflict
What mods does it conflict with?
I really am not sure, anything that edits the whole south of the map from the glowing sea to the swamps is suspect. You will need to read through the thread to find out, if anyone wants to make a list, ill add it here just DM Baerthe.
This isn't being worked on anymore?
Correct, we couldn't finish it, but its 90% done and has a handful of bugs but nothing major. It still needs cleaning and bug fixes but is now open source, see below.

A note from the authors:
Due to increasing demands from our personal lives and the current climate of the world, we are unable to finish this mod and we feel it is unfair to its users and fans to keep progress on it delayed for a time that will never come. We have discussed this as a team and of those who are left as developers (Baerthe and Crypt) we agree this is the best move for the project.
As of today, we are opening up the permissions of the mod and releasing the final update under CC BY-NC 4.0 licensing. We are ceasing all active development. This means the mod is free for you to issue your own updates, revisions, fixes, expansions, whatever you like, as long as you credit us directly and do not use anything we have made for commercial use. Thanks for the fun times and I hope to see the community again when we take up modding on another game and when time allows.

For testing, you should use a save that has never used SOTS before. There is currently a bug with updating that may cause save corruption if you use a save that previously had sots installed before we removed necropolis.

Why? Becuase it is apart of this mod, Carnagefiend is helping us by working on parts of this mod, as such he has included all of that mod's armor, weapons, and items into this one.
If you use AWKCR -AND- Armorsmith Extended See the files page for a patch! This patch works with all vers!
DO YOU USE CBBE Then you need to go pick up some patch over here: https://rd.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/26173?tab=files
It's a little confusing sounding but it does work. Basically, if you do use CBBE, you need to get the corresponding patch from Church of Atom Overhaul (it would be one of the first two files under Optional on that page) because that mod has been incorporated into this one and you'll get invisible/broken armor and weapons without the support patch. Don't use the Church of Atom Overhaul .esp (it says in the download that it's required but not in this case since it's already a part of the SOTS files) Note that you may get a "missing .esp" notification, but if you dismiss it and continue playing it will still work without the CoAO .esp.
This is a quick work-around until we can update with our own patches, but it's been reported that doing this works fine until then.
If you aren't using either CBBE or AWKCR, you don't need to worry, everything will work fine as is.

  These are normal errors having to do with extensive modding with the CK, We do our best effort to clean the mod before releasing it.
  Any user should NOT try to further clean it as this can break several parts of the mod. The "errors" exist for a reason and some are unfixable but technically do not affect your game.

Don't make the mistake I made and just install the 1.5 OS final Beta instead of both as you're supposed to... no wonder it kept crashing when trying to entre the Glowing Sea :P (Before you ask, yes I am mildly blind to the obvious things)

I've been having an issue with the mod where I go near Hopesmarch Pentecostal Church and my game immediately crashes every time I get near it. I've disabled the mod and loaded back in I could enter it with no issues at all. Not sure what to do

  Same problem here, and what is even better, it was not crush early in game, but it started on high level.

The install instructions for this have become unreasonably confusing with all the conflicting builds. Can anyone confirm I'm actually doing this properly? The way I'm reading these instructions I should ignore the 1.5 build entirely if I'm installing this today, and instead I should start with the South of the Sea (1.00Beta) file, and then add the Optimization and Compatibility for South of The Sea (SOTS) file after that? Do I still need some form of the AWKCR and Armorsmith Extended patches or the patch for CBBE mentioned in the instructions or is that information just old?

  You need only 1.00 and the Optimization patch (which is fixed 1.5++) which is essentially just what we did and fixes.
  OR
  Install *only* Atom's Storm, which is a remix/rebuild of the mod with added content.
  
  Two flavor options. You will need patches for other mods as directed by THOSE mod pages, not this one. Hope that clears it up.

  Can I have both? I already donwloaded the 1.00 with the optimization patch, do I have to delete the patch if I want to have Atom´s storm? EDIT: ignore me I already read the answer in the atoms storm page sorry for bothering...

Is atoms storm available on Xbox one. If so I have searched for it but I never find it. Also I was wondering if radical can be used with SotS, or if it's already included on the Xbox version? Thank you, sorry to bother anyone.

Do not get this mod! I couldn't walk three feet into the glowing sea without my game crashing. Took me forever to find out that it was this mod.

  Why would you even think of playing this mod when the very first sticky post tells you the mod is abandoned, provides links to two actively maintained continuations, and tells you
  
  Both mods above fix the issues with this one, DO NOT USE SOTS WITHOUT ONE OR THE OTHER, do not use both.
  
  Personally, I chose Optimization and Compatibility for South of The Sea and am enjoying their fixed version of this mod and the huge amount of additional content they have added.

  This version should still work as long as you are not running into compatibility issues. It's also required for mith077's continuation which fixes up some of the things we were never able to finish, which we highly recommend trying.

FYI All, this mod conflicts with Sim Settlements 2 and Settlers of the Commonwealth by kristakashi. All of these mods edit glowing sea locations and conflict in FO4Edit.

  The 3DNPC_FO4.esp conflicts are not really an issue. Nearly all of the 3DNPC conflicts are PreVis Files Timestamp and PreCombined Files Timestamps differences. Just make sure SOTS_Optimization.esp loads after the 3DNPC esp files.
  
  I don't use SS2: it conflicts with way too many other mods.

I think the settlement "The Armory" is from SOTS. I'm having a really annoying issue where, when I'm building if I try to move I'm kicked out of build mode as the game buffers(Or something along those lines). Question is is there a fix for this or am I s*** out of luck??

Oh love the mod btw its on my must use list.

P.S. I know you don't want bugs posted just hoping someone out there knows a fix thnx

  Use the optimization patch. The armory is broken in the base mod IIRC.
