    UPDATE v9.157


    NEW FEATURES
    - added 25 new articles in the Pre-War Companies category (9 finished categories, 157 articles, over 1200 dialogue lines in total)
    - Chryslus Motors and Poseidon Energy articles revamped, legacy entries are still accessible through the holotape (View old article)
    - new unlock method - you can now unlock codex entries by building workshop objects at settlements

    IMPROVEMENTS
    - optimized scripts for unlocking articles based on NPC/object detection

    BEFORE INSTALLING THE LATEST VERSION MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE ANY LOOSE FILES OF OLDER VERSIONS PRIOR TO 6.082!!!

    This should be compatible with Horizon, right? Does this mod place any items in the world besides holotapes? Does the player gain any exp or items from the quests related to gameplay other than story?

    Loved the idea,
    loved it ingame,
    sadly the constant Yao Guai notification problem popped up,
    which could have been ignored if there was no notification sound played for each discovery :)
    I look forward to the next update which addresses either issue.

      Add me to the list. It was working flawlessly until I did the quest "Visions in the fog" on Far Harbor. After aquiring the mother icon, I talked to the grand zealot and it unlocked the Yao Guai entry (although it had been unlocked a long time ago, of course). Now every conversation "unlocks" this entry, it seems. Hope this helps somehow.

      Same thing, right after "Visions in the Fog". Very annoying. Thanks for fixing it!! Fantastic mod.

    I know it's difficult to say, but is there an ETA on the next update?

      well the next update will be a bit different. still gonna add a new lore category, but beyond that, there's gonna be a whole quest with The Storyteller and ED-NA involved. this is the mod I'm mainly working on since September, and it's hard to tell an ETA, cause I always come up with new ideas.
      on one hand, the quest itself is about 90% finished, but since it was originally designed back during the summer as a "find a holotape, listen to it, find the next one" type of thing, it got VERY similar to the design of most of the quests in Fallout 76. so I decided to work on it some more to give it a more unique, interesting and interactive touch. something that's still has the holotapes as its core, but have much more, machinima-style storytelling beyond just the audio content, with NPCs involved. in a way. I think it's gonna be pretty awesome, but it takes time.
      still trying to finish it during the holidays.

      If your adding StoryTeller and ED-NA as NPCs will this cause issues with those of us who already have the T-49 - Armor of the Storyteller mod? As that mod already adds them to the game?

      not at all. as a matter of fact I talked to unoctium for permission to include the armor in the Wasteland Codex, but regardless, The Storyteller and ED-NA would make an appearance in this quest in a quite different and unique way. let's just say you won't see their present selves. you'll see their past.
      from a technical standpoint, no, it won't cause any issues. technically they will be different NPCs from the ones present in PowerArmorT49.esp. you could even have them as companions from PowerArmorT49.esp during the Wasteland Codex quest if you want.
      in case I don't get permission for the armor, PowerArmorT49.esp would be a soft dependency. meaning if you have it installed, The Storyteller would show up in T-49 in my quest, if you don't, he would show up in T-60 (or maybe T-45).

    I recently finished watching The Storyteller: Fallout series, over on Youtube, and after playing with this mod installed, I find it a critical mod for my play throughs. I felt especially guilty (and amused) on the codex entry on birds, after I accidently shot a raven in Concord.

      Considering there's quite a few Synth birds the Institute likes to use for keeping an eye on things Topside where a synth would be too risky, I wouldn't feel too bad about the odd Avicide.

    I need some help the mod is really bugged for me. The only categories that work for me are robots, humanoids, power armor and the bestiary. When I click on one of the other categories the only thing that shows up are a stop audio button and the chems and vechicles categories say that I have no articles unlocked despite the fact that I have unlocked 5 or more in those categories. Do anyone know how to fix this?

    Brilliant idea, and an absolutely superb mod. I'd love to see something like this included in future Fallout games as I figure it could really fit into the world and make it more accessible for new players. Bravo!

      current update is almost finished.
      and I continue working on it as long as I receive new content from them. changes made in the YouTube channel doesn't mean I won't receive new content for this mod as far as I know.

      Will the update have the after Visions in the fog Yao Guai bug fixed? Other than this bug this mod is great.

    Hey, I found a small typo: When speaking about the Glowing Ones, the subtitles say "gangers" instead of "gangsters"
