    UPDATE v9.1571

    FIXES
    - fixed issue where some article unlock events kept popping up during NPC dialogue
    - this update should fix this issue automatically, but in case for some reason the problem still persists in your game after installing v9.1571 please consider uninstalling the mod, then create a new save without The Wasteland Codex installed, then reinstall the mod - hopefully this is not necessary though

BEFORE INSTALLING THE LATEST VERSION MAKE SURE YOU REMOVE ANY LOOSE FILES OF OLDER VERSIONS PRIOR TO 6.082!!!

If anyone's wondering how to get rid of annoying good karma sound on codex unlock:
FO4Edit -> WastelandCodex.esp -> Sound Descriptor -> CX_GoodCarma -> Sounds -> Sound Files -> change this to any sound file in the game like data\Sound\FX\UI\UI_LevelUpText.wav

Works great with Classic Fallout Level up Sound

really good mod. only downside is i play with the music off, so its a pain switching the music on everytime i wana hear some lore. it would be cool if this mod used the radio or didnt use the music setting, also would be cool it it auto played so you dont have to use your pipboi to listen to it

I installed this in a new game and everything seemed just fine up until I hit lvl 31 and gave it a listen while in Sanctuary, and now can't exit out of the menu, close it, close out of the pip boy, or access the ESC key. I'm stuck there whether I access it from the pip boy or from from the MCM hotkey. I need to alt-ctrl-del and kill Falloutout 4. I can't for the life of me figure out what went wonky. (I haven't changed anything since my last use of the codex). I can't see any conflicts in FO4Edit either.

Edit: The menu that pops up Says something to the effect of "Here are some of the recent entries you haven't played yet" I haven't seen that pop up before. Clicking EXIT (via mouse, E, or enter) just kicks me to the top of the menu, and doesn't close it out.

I had hopes for this mod. The voice acting is great. However. Why is it immersive breaking? Why does the speaker have knowledge of stuff that almost no one had before or after the apocalypse? The audio recordings for Vault-Tec for example.

the title of the mod kind of gives it away. it's a database of the lore of the game. if it breaks your immersion, in as much as you don't want to know about the lore while you're playing the game and discovering locations/animals and any other assorted things that trigger the storyteller to tell you about them, then not using it is the solution? or turn the sound down. or don't explore anything.

I seem to be having an issue where in the audio will make it part way through a clip but die before finishing.
Also, another issue I have is that it takes a really long time for the notification to appear when I use my hot key. Any ideas?

Love, LOVE this mod. It's one of the few that i always consider when decided on if i want to come back to F4 for another run.

If you're open to a suggestion (and it's capable of being done) perhaps add a custom radio that randomly plays unlocked entries in your settlements? And as a bonus (again, if capable of being done) have this act as a happiness booster? (since settlers would appreciate being somewhat educated on the various things in the wastes)

I dont know if it makes sense at this moment, but there is a new android race has risen out of the ashes! (IKAROS Androids)
Maybe we can even catch them in the future!

ok so i know that the installation instructions detail how to install this mod if someone is updating from an old version to the latest version and that you need this other mod to get rid of 'old files' however there is nothing that i could find in the installation instructions that mentions if that other mod is necessary for those who have never used this mod before and installing the latest mod version for the first time. I would assume that i do not need the other mod to 'remove old files' if i have never used this mod before and i'm installing this mod for the first time but i thought i would ask anyways. Also a suggestion would be to add information to the installation instructions about what to do for those who have never used this mod before and are installing this mod for the first time.

the notification clearly states that you only need to remove older files of THIS MOD if you were using an older version of THIS MOD, specifically older than 6.082.
don't know what 'other mod' you're referring to.

a new user of this mod should follow the install steps as normal and simply ignore this warning.

Hey, love the mod. I just tried downloading the update (9.1571) and it keeps being flagged as a Trojan virus. I'm using google chrome on windows 10. I hope this is just some fluke and it can easily be resolved.

A lot of false positives have been reported for a lot of mods after the windows update. They are that, false positives.
