Just connect the switchbox near the workbench to the waterpump next to it, and to the wallconnector above it to run electricity through the whole building without having to run any wires ... 

'Select' > 'unselect' the cable running through the wall to connect the beacon.

do not fast travel to it, first goto f.o. The Slog, and run to it from there ... it needs to reload the cell because of a lot of activators ... You'll need the 3 workshop DLC's.
