The Henry Repeating Rifle
The Henry Repeating Rifle
!!THIS MOD REQUIRES FAR HARBOR!!
In 1860, one Benjamin Tyler Henry patented and began production on the Henry Repeating Rifle, an improved version of the earlier Volition Repeating Rifle. Chambered in a .44 rimfire cartridge and with a considerably 16 round tubular magazine, the Henry proved to be a potent weapon in the right hands, with a rapid fire rate compared to what was already in use at the time. The rifle astounded the Confederate soldiers facing it, who primarily still used muzzleloading rifles, calling it "a rifle you could load on Sunday and shoot all week long." The Henry would go on to serve as the basis for the Winchester repeater, one of the iconic guns of the Wild West.
Nowadays, though the Henry's heyday has long since passed, it still enjoys use by Civil War reenactors and competitive shooting, with replicas made by several companies. And now this old standby finds its way to the Commonwealth.
The Henry rifle features custom meshes primarily by 500slr, with one (the peep sight) done by yours truly, as well as custom textures and sounds. The Henry does a base 37 in damage and uses vanilla .44 ammo, and comes with quite a host of mods, those being:
16 Iron Sights, in both normal and glow sighted
4 Scopes (A few being see-through)
5 Reflex Sights
8 Glow sight colors
1 Muzzle attachment
2 Foregrip options
The Henry has two places sights can be mounted: the barrel or on the receiver. While you can have both slots occupied, it's highly recommended you don't do that because things won't line up properly when you aim. The receiver mounting is also where you'll find your reflex sights and short-range scopes.
The Henry is level-listed by script, and will start turning up at around level 25 in loot, on enemies and on vendors. Legendary versions also have a chance to turn up on Legendary enemies. A rather special, unique version is also available, placed in the world somewhere for you to find.
The see-through short and medium range scopes use a crosshair texture from henkspamadres's See-Through Scopes Framework (which isn't required for this mod).
This mod's also available for the XB1! A link to the XB1 mod page can be found under the Mirrors tab.
Pictures That Move
Download either manually or with NMM. If taking the former route, extract the contents of the zip file to your Data folder, then activate the mod from the in-game mods menu or via a 3rd party mod organizer like Wrye Bash. If doing the latter, once the mod has downloaded, activate it from NMM or in-game, and go on your merry way.
When installing updates, be sure to have the update overwrite the existing .esp and BA2 files. Having an updated version loaded at the same time as an old version can and will cause problems
Untick the mod from the in-game mods menu or your mod organizer of choice. Delete the RSh-12.esp and corresponding BA2s from your Data folder if you want to make a clean sweep.
Since the rifle uses the lever-action rifle animations from Far Harbor, it's subject to the same bugs, namely the "reload 5 shots even though you shot 1" issue with the animation. I don't know if mods that correct that issue for the lever-action rifle would also fix it for the Henry.
The cocking lever floats a little ways from the receiver when the gun's cocked. Probably not terribly noticeable during normal gameplay, but still worth mentioning.
500slr, who made the meshes for the rifle and most of its mods.
