Food Mod removes (almost) all healing effects from food and drink, makes fresh wasteland foods radioactive, and removes radiation effects from 200 year old packaged foods. It also adjusts the caps values and weights of some foods, and a few other small changes.
Everything still works normally in regard to hunger and thirst in Survival mode.
The purpose is to increase realism, make Survival mode a little more interesting, and make pre-war food more interesting and valuable, like treasure. Salisbury Steak > Grilled Radroach.
This mod incorporates everything from my previous mod 'Food Don't Heal' http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/13118? So you shouldn't use both mods. Use this one instead.
Other small changes include: More / better pickup and drop sounds. More food items now have bounding boxes. Bubble Gum gives you +1 CHA while the flavor lasts. Gum Drops give you +1 LCK. Potato Chips make you thirsty. Tarberries and Mutfruit cure thirst. (Or was that already in vanilla?) Beer too. Raw Meats now make you feel sick (-1 STR), unless you have Cannibal perk. (Lukowsky's) Potted Meat now causes stomach pain (-1 END) and offensive flatulence (-3 CHA). And a few more small things like that.
Beer, booze, herbs, chems, Perfectly Preserved Pie and Nuka-Cola products, and some other stuff, are not affected.
You can thank Muxz for the Valdacil's Item Sorting compatible version (PC).
You can thank franzKline for enlisting chucksteel to port the console versions.
You kan dank BockworschtSoldier for the Deutsche language version.

Compatibility:
This mod makes small edits to all of the food items in the game. It does not use scripts or make changes in worldspace or cells. New foods added by other mods will not be affected at all by this mod. It's compatible with texture mods. It should be extremely compatible in general, except with mods that edit the same foods. AFAIK it can't possibly hurt anything.
It is 100% compatible with hunger in Survival mode. (It works with all difficulty levels.) It carries over (won't overwrite) all fixes from the Unofficial Patch (UFO4P).
Exciting Info:
This mod is also 100% compatible with and complements 'Wasteland Wound Care' (also by yours truly), which adds bandages and other healing items to Fallout 4. http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12597
Don't leave your vault without it!
Installation / Uninstallation:
Install / uninstall the usual way. It's just one .esp file. (You can install it, remove it, upgrade it - no problem - it won't affect saved games.)
Future Plans:
Possibly make some wild fruits and vegetables radiation free. Hopefully fix a reported VIS/DEF_UI sorting error. Constructive feedback is very welcome!

1.3 Minor changes to conform to Unofficial Patch (UFO4P). Reuploaded 5/23 - no changes except it's really an ESL this time.
