For some reason WinRar compression wasn't working with NMM downloads. I have re-uploaded all mod versions with 7zip (instead of WinRar). And download with NMM is working normally for me. Let me know if you have any more issues with it.

    Also: Hotfiles?! Wow. Thanks folks!!!

    f.a.q. :
    1) Are any other groups or companions planned?
A: A few more companions probably. Can't say which ones, but I probably won't do Strong, Codsworth, Longfellow, Dogmeat -_- , X6-86, or Deacon. They're great characters, but I don't use them and the mod takes weeks to do.

    Hey!
1.03 Small update - No need to upgrade. Packed files in BA2 format and tweaked volume of a few files.
If you do want to upgrade from 1.02 to 1.03 anyway, the "IcebreakerCDO-Settlements" folder in Fallout 4\Data\Sound\Voice has to be deleted because loose files override BA2 format.

Very sad that the author did not make a dogmeat icebreaker mod.

I can't see any difference with this mod or without. And I just wondering: how 400+ voiced dialog lines can have 4.6 Mb file size ?! Where are the trick? Or I just dumb and don't understand description.

If I understand correctly, they were lines in the vanilla game that were re-purposed for settlers to say. That's why it may seem like there's no difference, they use the same voice actors, the goal was just to change the demeanor of the settlers.

Just to add to manan's post, I have heard them say lines they wouldn't normally use in vanilla, the mods called icebreaker for a reason because they use lines to break the silence and supposedly start a conversation, like lines, " why don't you take a night off" they would have never er said that in vanilla ..

I don't recommend using this mod together with PlayerCommentsHeadTracking and Realistic Conversations. Otherwise you will get random CTD when talking to some NPC, I have done quite a few tests and these three mods cannot work together. I still can't figure out which of the three is the problem.

This mod works fine with Player Comments & Head tracking, and also the Flirty mod, so it must be Realistic Conversations that is causing you an issue. I've been using all but the RCO for a very long time.

The thing I noticed off the bat with Player Comments/Head Tracking was Ghoul Settlers were missing voice lines on certain responses. The camera changes introduce hip shooting and accuracy issues in the third person view for rifles. After a while it started to become - gimmicky. I read the posts for the mod and it seems people were dissatisfied with the state of the project, wanting it to use F4SE, etc. I suppose its what you can live with and if you can make the mod work for you.

I'm stuck between using this, or SCDO.

To those who have given both a try, which would you say is the more "dynamic" of the two, for the lack of a better word.

Have used both in different runs and both are good at what they propose to do, but still fairly different.

This is more applied to settlers and their chatter, it just about triples their available lines to "400+" like author suggests. Still it might not feel impactful enough to some people and some lines might get old. SCDO similarly increases available settler dialogue, but it also revamps companions and enemies, plus most your companions will now have a slew of radiant quests to throw at you (optional, and you can cancel if you regret picking it up). For someone that just wants better settlers id probably stick with Icebreaker, for the more "dynamic" package then SCDO.

You can also look at "realistic conversations" which supposedly improves settlers (compatible with both SCDO and Icebreaker), and it does when it works, but its far too much of a hit and miss. From my experience, it often changes nothing at all.

I really appreciate the insight. Thank you very much.

How much harm is there in using one for a while, then switching to another? They both seem pretty goddamn fantastic at what they do. I'm a little bit sick of Settlers constantly whining about supply shortages that don't exist and so on. Having some new lines to become annoyed at wouldn't exactly be unwelcome. The only thing that gives me pause in regards to SCDO is that I haven't really played too much with companions, aside from Ada, if one could even consider her a proper companion. However, lately I've began something of a love affair with Hancock, and SCDO's notion of removing certain lines while making others more prevalent is only worrisome because, well, a similar reason as to why I'm interested in Ice Breaker; I've yet to become overly familiar with Hancock's lines yet, maybe I'll find myself more inclined after having him around for a while.

Realistic Conversations + Immersive Generic Dialogues + Icebreaker Settlements + Icebreaker Piper should do a better more specialized job than SCDO. I am installing those 4 after pondering which way to go. I don't like the way SCDO tries to do too many things, I like specialized mods, and I feel SCDO is a bit way too intrusive for my taste.

Have you looked at or condiderd Player Comments and Headtracking? The author, gargorias, actively supports it, has added a huge amount of dialog for players, has patches for IceBreaker, (and the one for Piper), and also works with Flirty Comments?, which needs no patches. You can fully adjust almost all settings using the Mod Configuration Menu. It even has a patch for SCDO. gargorias is an excellent mod author, and his mod rarely has any complaints, though if someone does have one, it usually a load order issue. (Yeah, I'm a fan!) I have been running Icebreaker, PC&H, MCM, and Flirty Comment for literally years, with never an issue. And yes, he is still working on updates to add more dialog. Laugh, but you can respond to Marci, at times, with "b*tch*". So many things to make the game come to life.

If you've already looked at it and don't want it, then just ignore me, lol, but personally, I have to have Icebreaker and PC&H in my game

    Wondering about instillation.
    Vortex says invalid download link.
When downloading manually the readme says move ESP file to Data. Done. What about the BA2 file? That's not mentioned. The readme says move the sound folder to the data file. There's already on there, what's that about?

Issue was with Vortex. Cant find how to delete post.

Hi, do you know you're my hero? As a settlement builder there's nothing worse than hearing the same four lines of dialogue from everyone, and rudely at that--"hope you're not here for me" okay, buddy, I'll just let you build your OWN bed then. This breathes so much life into the game.
