Steal Your Enemies Souls

Alchestbreach video featuring this mod!

Summary:

Have you ever met an enemy that really gave you a hard time? They've killed you a few times, hampered your progress and/ or just really pissed you off. Wouldn't you want something notable to remember them by once you finally overcame them? Something that will really stick out in your inventory from all the leather armor, pipe pistols and office fans? Well with this mod, you can take the most notable thing they have: their mortal soul!

With this mod, you can now find or create a new machete mod that allows you to steal other peoples souls and trap them in lanterns. These souls primary purpose is to serve as trophies/ souvenirs of foes past, but their uses do expand well beyond that. You can also release the souls in the form of a fiery grenade or place them in a vessel that will bend to your will!

New scythe version added:
A separate file has been added to downloads that adds a special scythe capable of harvesting souls just like the default reaper machete. This scythe can be found in the Sanctuary hills basement, stabbed in the same skeleton the Reaper is inside.

*THIS VERSION REQUIRE THE SCYTHE OF MADNESS MOD BE INSTALLED*

Get it here: Scythe of Madness

Features:

-SOUL LANTERNS: Craftable soul lanterns and higher-quality special soul lanterns that can trap enemies souls

-UNIQUE MACHETE (REAPER): Found with soul harvester starter kit located in sanctuary hills root cellar, this machete is able to fill normal soul lanterns with the soul of anyone killed with it. The mod attached to it can also be crafted at any weapon workbench

-KREMVH'S TOOTH ADDITION: New effect added to Kremvh's Tooth which allows it to fill special soul lanterns

-UNSTABLE SOUL LANTERNS: Craft unstable soul lanterns from filled soul lanterns. These can be thrown to break and release the soul inside in a devastating explosion

-THE FIRE STARTER: New laser musket mod allows the user to steals souls from a distance! Caution should be used though, as this comes at the drawback of only a single cranks worth of damage. Special musket with mod already attached can also be found in the players original sanctuary hills home!

-MULTI-COLORED SOULS: Although humans and other enemies with human souls (super mutants, ghouls, ferals, etc.) give a normal soul lantern, different colored lanterns can be obtained from non-humanoids! Robots yield mechanical blue souls, creatures yield radioactive green souls, and deathclaws will yield bright red souls. Legendary enemies will also give a new purple soul!

-SOUL RELEASE ALTAR: Build an altar found in the special section of workshop to release undesired souls from their lanterns.

-SOUL VESSELS: Give new life to trapped souls by putting them in soul vessels! Found in the special tab in the workshop menu, soul vessels may resemble a Gen 2 synth, but they are far different. They will function identically to normal settlers, meaning you can do to the souls they harbor just about whatever you wish. Will you create your own above ground hell to perpetually torture them for their wrongdoings, or will you treat this new body as a second chance for them, and try to help them live out their new existence in a far better way than they did their last? The choice is yours!

Additional Soul Vessel Info:

-Due to their delicate nature, soul vessels must be built with filled special soul lanterns

-Soul vessels affect workshop population count, as well as all other stats. They are effectively human, just with less of the "human" part.

-Once killed, the soul inside a vessel is released, though the lantern it was once trapped in is left behind for reuse.

-Soul vessels cannot normally wear clothes. However, because they are the same race as Nick Valentine, any mod that allows him to wear different clothes (such as the Unified Clothing Overhaul or Under-Wear) will also work on soul vessels

Changelog:
-Changed cost of special soul lanterns (now cost 7 ballistic fiber)
-Added legendary purple soul lantern
-Added soul release altar

Authors Comment:
I feel the need to add that I had zero idea that Skyrim had a similar mechanic to this until about halfway through creating this mod, when I found a link to an article about soul gems while googling ideas for this mod.
