To anybody who is sure they have ReShade installed correctly and are still having issues - ReShade and overlays like PrecisionX, MSI Afterburner, etc typically do not get along. You will likely need to disable any overlays in order to get it running. You should still be able to run them without the overlay. I use MSI Afterburner myself for GPU overclocking and fan control.

What shaders did you install for this, if you don't mind?

Download the ReShade Framework (Legacy Version 1.1). You NEED to use the ReShade Repository to get the older legacy versions. This preset WILL NOT work with the newer versions of ReShade as the file pathing and shaders are laid out in a completely different fashion.
Copy the "ReShade" folder and "ReShade.fx" file into the game folder
Download this preset and extract the contents into the Fallout 4 game folder. Yes to overwrite.

      Here's a link to the ReShade Repository - https://reshade.me/forum/general-discussion/294-reshade-repository-new-host

Definitely not seeing a reshade folder anywhere. I see reshade-shaders, that's all. I've installed it correctly and it works in game, but I cannot figure out how to install your preset.

You need to make sure you install the correct (old) version of ReShade.

I'm going to have to do a black and white Let's Play using Sinful City. I love that. It reminds me of Twilight Zone, my favorite tv show of all time. Beautiful work, thank you.

Hey, this looks good! I'm currently using Photorealistic commonwealth enb but I want to try something different and the "I've got the blues" looks real good! Would it hit my FPS as hard as my current enb or would it be less of a hit? Thank you!

It depends on your setup and graphics settings, but the preset generally hits my system for about 15fps, and I play at 3440 x 1440 with everything maxxed out.

First off, I love the reshade. It was extremely easy to install and did not affect my FPS in any way. If possible though, would you be able to assist in clearing something up for me? The text on my HUD is a bit too sharp, and looks slightly off. I don't know if it's because of the lens effect, but do you know how I could clean that up?

If I remember correctly, the FXAA shader can cause the HUD text to look "wiggly."

    for noobs like me:
    1)Download the program from (reshade.me)
2)Put it into your fallout 4 folder
    3)Activate it by choosing fallout 4 launcher(while using dx10)
    4)Download the mod itself manualy
5)Take it from an archive and put ReShade into your fallout 4 directory
6)Start Fallout 4 and you'll an overlay of the program
    7)Press Shift + F2
You may have a glitch that will block your cursor inside invisible box,but you still can move an overlay of the programm as you wish
9)Add the word Reshade manualy if this program won't see your Reshade folder
10)Then inside of the loaded game you'll see a lot of options,so tweak the, as you wish
I hope it will help someone

This is still my favourite reshade for fallout. I use your original wasteland grit for the sepia toned dusty wasteland feel.

I see you've made an enb as well, I was wondering would you make an enb that wasn't as pale as futility but more hot and sepia toned like the original reshade?

The only part of ENB I use is the fake lights fix. Everything else comes from ReShade, so you could easily just swap in one of the presets on this mod page.

All you need to do is install the ENB portion from Futility and then install one of the ReShade presets from this page.

No prob - the only change I would suggest is turning off the ReShade AO because the NVIDIA in-game one is better.

Hello, love the look of the "I've got the blues" preset but I can't seem to get it working without encountering two errors at the main menu.

    Reshade/CustomFX/TuningPalette.h(71, 26): error X3004: undeclared identifier 'detectLowColor'
    Reshade/CustomFX/TuningPalette.h(71, 40): error X3000: syntax error: unexpected ','

I am using Reshade Framework 1.1.0.

So I tried with another reshade preset and it worked just fine. Am I missing something here or what, any help is appreciated.

nvm, I fixed it. The problem is with the framework not the preset.

    ReShade manual installation instructions -

    1 - Download framework from reshade.me
2 - Extract everything to your game's executable folder - mine happens to be in a games folder - C:\Games\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout 4
    3 - Delete the ReShade32.dll (you don't need it)
    4 - Rename the ReShade64.dll to dxgi.dll

Now the ReShade framework should be installed. Boot up your game and you should see the framework load. Test that it is working before moving onto the next part.

    To install my preset:

1 - Download from the Nexus
2 - Extract the folder to your game's executable folder
3 - Within the main Wasteland Grit folder, there will be a ReShade folder - copy this and paste directly into your game's executable folder.
4 - Select "yes" to overwrite

So this first step fucked over my system as it says to follow the directions from ReShade (run Mediator in other words). PC seized up each time, and so I removed it. I was going to post here, but you have different instructions here than you do on the Description page, so please update the Desc page to have these much simpler, more normal instructions! Thanks!

And that too was a miserable fail. I eat ENB and ReShade presets for breakfast with my rig, but this one and the Grit - Futility preset = hell. My system collapses to desktop or seizes up, and trying to use your normal directions from this post (as compared to the Desc pages) = Fallout 4.exe failed to launch. Sorry, but three different presets and all of them = failure? Something's wrong in those settings + my modded game. Too bad too. Was looking forward to playing with a new preset.

There is nothing wrong with the directions on the main page, or pinned above. The main page is for folks who use ReShade's installation instructions (using the Mediator). Folks were having problems using the Mediator (not my fault, that's ReShade's thing, not mine), so I posted manual instructions (as shown above). I personally don't use the Mediator tool and install all ReShade presets the same way.

Tons of people have used these presets without issue, so it is something on your end. One possibility is that you are not using the correct version of ReShade. It needs to be v1.1. I can take ReShade with this preset and drop it as-is (minus ENB of course) into pretty much any game's folder and use it. I have confirmed these presets to work just fine with The Division, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, Dragon Age: Inquisition, and The Witcher 3...all just the same as Fallout 4.

Another possibility is that your system is having problems with some of the mods that you've installed. There was a very recent update that could have messed with some mods. I am using a very heavily modded game without issue (including the full Resurrection Forest). Or perhaps you are using an overclock on your GPU? The only time this game ever throws driver errors at me and crashes is when I try to use overclock settings that are stable with other games. I can't seem to use any GPU overclocks with this game.

Love the look of this, however had to stop using after about an hour due to massive headaches due to blurry text..
    I set "#define USE_DEPTHOFFIELD 0 //[DOF] //-" but it didn't make a difference, any suggestions?

Changing that from 1 to 0 will turn off all DoF, unless you are using an alternate DoF, such as ENB.

      no ENB,
Running Realshade, F4SE and Shadowboost (until the update)
I turned it off (and saved ;-)) but still had blurring I've seen with bad DoF issues.

I really would need to see a screenshot. But that's the only DoF from ReShade...it has to be coming from something else.
