(Just a heads up... I may possibly separate the BA2 file from the ESP file for downloads in the future. It seems silly to have to download the entire mod if I have to make small changes to the ESP file.)
This patch does a large amount of polishing to the weapon pack and brings it up to speed for Horizon 1.3 and above.
Some weapons have a new selection of ammo based on Horizon's ammo switching. Some weapons have their default ammo changed.
Many textures were reduced in size. I did this because a lot of attachments do not require large texture sizes since you never see them up close. This is mainly done to lower precious video memory, but it does also have the benefit of smaller disk space and faster downloads.
I tested most of the main weapons, but it's possible some of the attachments could be messed up. Let me know if any textures are messed up or even crash the game when you swap attachments.
The patch required a large amount of tedious changes. There's bound to be some minor bugs, so let me know if you spot something.
General - Many textures that are generally not visible up close, were reduced in size - Many weapons now have Horizon's firing mode support - Many weapons now have Horizon's ammo swapping - Many receivers are converted to the standard Horizon damage system - Some receivers that are no longer used are converted to "Outdated" standard receivers - Some calibrated receivers were fixed to match Horizon's critical hit damage - Many descriptions and properties were fixed - Most descriptions are updated to match Horizon's new detailed descriptions - An error was fixed where ammo had 1% chance to not try to roll on weapons - ZX1 ingredient requirements were tweaked (mostly reduced) - The pack no longer replaces the revolver sound effect - The pack no longer contains duplicate vanilla recipes/mods which were breaking vanilla weapon mods
Crude Blowback - All the proper textures are fixed - The sights now have the proper alignment when aiming down them - The suppressor has the proper sound effect now
That Gun (formly the M2019 PKD Detective Special) - Is now labeled as "That Gun" - I updated the textures for this weapon to give it a different look and to fix some texture problems - I reimported the normal map from original model to fix the inverted normal maps - I fixed the green LED, so the color isn't bleeding onto the weapon itself - Is no longer bolt-action, so the weapon feels like you think it should - Has the proper attack speed adjustments to accommodate for not being bolt-action anymore - This weapon uses a new .223 ammo set - Now has a mastercrafted receiver
P90 - Labeled as the "P90c" now - Now uses 9mm by default - Uses the N99's ammo set for ammo switching - Changed the firing sounds to use the 10mm vanilla sounds, since the originals did not seem work to well with automatic firing modes - SpecterDR Scope is removed (there are too many problems with the texture files for it)
China Lake - Now uses Horizon's 40mm ammo and ammo switching - The speed of most 40mm projectiles is slower - Removed from the ZX1 lab (this wasn't supposed to be in there) - Now requires Demo Expert rank 2 and Gun Nut rank 2 to craft - Can also be crafted with Contracted Work, which requires Settler Skill: Craftsmanship rank 2 - The old 40mm ammo is obsolete and labeled as " Damaged", but can be sold to vendors (sorry, it can't be scrapped, just sell it)
Holorifle - Damage rebalanced - Now requires Future Solider rank 3 and Science rank 3 to craft - Can also be crafted with Contracted Work, which requires Settler Skill: Craftsmanship rank 3
Bozar - The bozar should no longer have so many errors with mods
Mauser - Is now called the "Mauser Pistol" - Can use the weapon kit to switch the firing mode
Varmint Rifle - Varmint rifles have been tuned to their proper damage level for .223 - The Ratslayer no longer has a suppressor - The legendary effects on the uniques are changed - The uniques are worth more caps if you want to sell them
DKS-501 - The fact this is basically a semi-auto hunting rifle, the base damage is lower than bolt-action weapons - Reduced the rate of fire
Desert Eagle - Uses the magnum ammo set - The defaults ammo is now .357 - This weapon fires slower for .44 and .50AE - The damage of this weapon is slightly lower than a Revolver, because of it's faster rate of fire
Probably some other changes I missed
Future plans
I plan on adding more ways to eventually acquire weapons if you aren't finding them on NPCs. Either via vendors, or my new trading system I'm working on.
I had the same problem, but the solution suggested by erchii, namely installing Z_Horizon_WeaponPack01.esp after Z_Horizon.esp in the mod load list. Now I can improve and review weapons from this mod. Thanks erchii!
To those who have problems with outdated weapon parts and not being able to upgrade I have a solution, at least for MO2 Users.
You need to replace this mod's "Z_Horizon_WeaponPack01.esp" with the same esp belonging to Horizon 1.8.7 if you chose the weapon merge option at installation.
The way I did that was to install another copy of Horizon and rename it. Or you can also simply duplicate the mod. Open it in the file explorer and delete everything except "meta.ini" and "Z_Horizon_WeaponPack01.esp". Place that below this mod in the left pane to overwrite it. No need to change anything on the right hand panel because it simply replaces the esp. Done.
Hi, I solved this problem in really easy way, just use Vortex. When you have "conflict" menu, you can manually choose who rules ESP (click "1 conflict file" and "Edit individual files"), Vortex chooses MERGE ESP file by default. You can change on WEAPON ESP from HORIZON and... problem's gone!!!
So I loved the DKS Sniper Rifle from way back, and was happy to see this mod including it. Unfortunately it's super nerfed, and I hope the mod author is willing to correct that. DMG wise it's somewhere between assault rifles and long range bolt action rifles. That doesn't really do it justice or give a good game balance as ammo capacity is low, and requirements for modding it are really really high and some fall in the Sniper category. So it's clearly meant to be a sniper rifle, as the names suggest, but I don't see why anyone would ever use it as the early game option of Hunting Rifle outperforms the DKS all the way =/
If anyone's still getting the outdated parts glitch even after installing the correct .esp from the Horizon 1.8 file, you gotta do it manually.
This means that you can't rely on mod managers to install this specific file, for some reason. Just go into the .rar and grab the correct .esp, replace, and you're golden.
Great mod! but im having issues. I'm unable to customize the weapons. for example the makeshift anti-material rifle, for all the mods on this rifle I need rifle parts (outdated) what dose that mean? do I need a update for them gun mods ?

Grease gun
DefenseGun
10mm SMG
Shotgun
Caravan Shotgun
winchester M1897

With those, even if not all of them, you would be the best mod-pack for Horizon
Reinstall Horizon. The last page of the install has a patch for the weapon pack. Simply check that box.
its work for me
Please consider fixing this in the next update?
