Isn't the standard Flamer in Fallout 4 a great weapon? Before you question yourself whether I sniffed too much dissolvent, got hit by a truck or was caught in the middle of a 105: I WAS KIDDING! :D
The Flamer isn't even worth its weight in caps by default, and the VATS issue doesn't help it either. So I took the opportunity to tinker around with that thing and made a small but noticable upgrade to the design.

Changelog:
Beta 1.0.0
- Initial version

Beta 2.0.0
- Retranslated INNR to show the prefixes in english again.

1.0.0
- Removed the Fafnir dummy flamer
- Changed the damage from the Fafnir to 81 energy damage

1.0.1
- Fixed an issue which caused the Flamer to be displayed with it's german name

Installation

1. Install Eisenwolf's Legacy (see the link above) and do the small introduction quest if you haven't already (otherwise skip to step 2). Once it's done simply create a new savegame and log out.
2. Install this mod using NMM and continue from the savegame you just created.

Obtaining the weapon

The Fafnir is actually a modified flamer which requires three upgrade parts which can either be crafted at the chemistry station (more expensive) or upgraded at the Eisenwolf workbench from flamer mods you already have in either your workshop or your inventory. Once all three parts have been added on a weapons workbench, the Flamer you used as the basis becomes the Fafnir, named after a dragon from the nordic mythology. For the record: since it is only an upgrade, the Fafnir will keep any legendary effect that was on the original Flamer - still got that wounding Flamer collecting dust somewhere? :)

Roast'em!

Time for the fun part: what does the Fafnir actually do?
- The Fafnir sprays a stream of burning napalm drops, which now count as projectiles and work properly in VATS (at least they should unless VATS likes to glitch out again anyway)
- It does 81 base damage. Sounds like a lot, but even with the improved rtange you still need to get up fairly close when compared to other automatic weapons to unleash the Fafnir's fiery breath.
- Range is increased to 93. Now you actually hit anything that is too far away to be beat to death with a mop instead.
- Bash damaged is increased by 400 %, and both staggering effect and staggering chance have been maximized.

Known Issues

Because the Fafnir fires projectiles rather than a stream of flames, it comes with an impact effect that tends to glitch out a bit. Doesn't make the weapon unusable, but it might look funny depending on where the burst of flame suddenly erupts from.
Another issue that might occur is that if you create an upgrade kit on the Eisenwolf workbench and want to apply it to the Flamer of your choice, it's marked with a "X+" suffix. This doesn't affect the weapon's performance, but it might be surprising and I'm still working on this issue and try to find out what's causing it.
