Is this still being worked on? If so I'd like to suggest maybe, if possible, lights like those in the prebuilt vaults. The ones that are built into the wall. Namely those you see in Vault 81 or 114.
Would it not just be possible to make the outside area a settlement in its own right. Then you can clean up everything yourself including the radioactive barrels etc?
I'm a little surprised that someone already hasn't all ready made one. But I did a search and it looks like no one has.
There would be some items that would need to be changed around like I've done for the mod. Like the water level being changed in the outside cells and the water being converted into scrap-able objects. As well as converting the shacks into workshop pieces, linking items for scrap, and adding some scrap recipes.
For balance it should probably have the non-settlement keyword like the airport and mechanist layer.
I could probably get that banged out this weekend if you think you would use it. Ironically your series made me decide to get back to this project in the first place.
The Overseer's terminal in Vault 88. Valery may be using it depending on the outcome of the DLC, just go to use it and she should get up and leave the desk.
The mod works fairly well with VT Workshop since it's intended for use with it anyway? I've completed Vault-Tec Workshop's quests and the mod works 100%. No bugs so far at all.
When you place the Overseers Desk (Under SPECIAL's tab on Workshop mode) it has the terminal on it. The only selectable thing is to do with the overseer and booting it up. The Mod assumes you're the Overseer of Vault 88 and not Valery (again depending on final outcome of the DLC's quests). It will do it's little boot up and then you'll get a menu of messages, management, about info etc.
You want to select messages, which always updates to tell you if there is a new message or not.
No no, you misunderstand, I told valery I wouldn't work with vault tec and that ended the questline early, Do I have to do the Vault tec questline to use this mod?
Oh. Just go to Vault 88, shoot her/kill her and loot her body for the schematics to the tests. You'll be stuck with generic versions of the prototypes that do their baseline jobs without the use of a mod that allows you to change their function. But you should be able to build the overseers desk still at Vault 88.
Then it's likely the mod requires you to complete Vault-Tec Workshops Quests. If you don't want to go through the effort of it, the Fallout Wikia will have the SetStage information for the DLC. Use these to effectively bypass the DLC. Though using SetStage for anything may or may not result in some bugs.
Sounds more like a WIP to come up with a more logical way of envisioning Vault 88. As the author says, that highly radioactive lake is not exactly like rolling out the red carpet for newcomers
i remember that from the first fallout... or was it the second... ether way i do recall it, i remember you could sell sperm if you were a guy... sadly you would think you could have sold eggs as a girl... but you could not sadly, still it was an interesting place
Other than harvesting eggs is an invasive procedure and nobody in their right minds would want to do such a thing in such a dirty environment. "Sure, I'll help you out...what? My chances of survival due to infection in this filthy environment is about 5%?" Vault City and Vault 8 may be "clean" but they are not surgery/operating room clean. Further, harvesting eggs takes weeks and is done on a donor-recipient basis. There would have to be someone waiting for the donated eggs. That being said, eggs can be frozen but no such facilities exist in Vault 8 for storage of eggs.
I'm trying to use the option "Move Waste to Shed (Gear+3Day)" but It keeps saying I'm missing gear. I have all the gear both in my inventory and in the workshop?

It checks the player for the items. Check to make sure you didnt acidently make the wrong type of suit. I did that some times durring testing. If you have the gas masks (from the dispenser) the suits and the chems. But it still doesnt work here is the bypass
Good to know, probably need to redo the all the precomp stuff. I have a poor rig and have the settings cranked way down, so I didn't notice during testing.

Lore wise it may present some challenges but I will address it.

I got it to work eventually.
Just finished the preview. So far I really like it. To the point I'm actually disappointed that I can't finish it yet till future updates ha.
EDIT: After installing I drop to around 25fps from 60 inside Vault 88
I have a poor rig and have the settings cranked way down, so I didn't notice during testing.
Thanks.
