About this mod

Scales power armor lining upgrade values proportionally to the armor's base rating instead of adding a flat value to it.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
This mod is no longer supported. I no longer use Impervious Power Armor or Damage Threshold. Damage Threshold has been made functionally obsolete by shavkacagarikia's Damage Threshold Framework.

Version 1.0

If your enemies scream and run in abject terror of your unholy visage or your HUD thinks your armor is broken, but you continue to stomp around and murdelize all the things... please read the sticky post. It isn't my fault and I can't fix it.

Summarized: Power armor lining mods, from rank 2 to rank 6 (Model B - Model F, Mk II - Mk VI) increase all Damage Resistance values and armor health by 20% per rank, using a multiplicative modifier. Rank 2 provides base rating + 20% DR, Rank 6 provides base rating + 100% DR.

This applies to the following resistance values:

  • Energy Resistance
  • Cryo Resistance
  • Fire Resistance
  • Radiation Resistance
  • Poison Resistance

This mod is compatible with Impervious Power Armor as well as Sturdier Power Armor and any other mods that change armor-related game settings, such as fusion core drain. If the mod changes the armor linings directly, it will need a patch. Read below and check the optional plugins.

==================================================================================================================================

In vanilla Fallout 4, each upgrade to your suit of power armor's lining mod increases the Damage Resistance or Energy Resistance by a flat value, such as 20 to 100 from Model B to Model F or Mk II to MK VI. In effect, this means that these upgrades benefit you less proportionally for the higher-tier armors than they do for the lower-tier armors. T-45 suits gain a greater percentage of Energy DR at Model F than the X-01 suits do at MK VI compared to their base value. The Damage Resistance upgrades are greater for the higher-tier suits, but the Energy DR upgrades are not.

This means, as well, that if you have a mod that alters power armors' defense ratings, that the vanilla upgrades can become redundant as you approach diminishing returns on your damage resistance, as the game's damage formula is logarithmic. For example, if you have a mod that gives the T-45 suit a DR of 5,000, then the default upgrades increase it by a negligible amount.

I have changed all of the lining mod object modifications for power armors so that they use the Multiply + Add function instead of the Add function to increase DR. Therefore, all power armors now have upgrades ranging from 20% extra to 100% extra DR. Your T-45 Suit with 5,000 DR can now have 10,000 DR, or your T-45 Suit with 300 DR can now have 600 DR.

I have made several optional plugins that add my own personalized DR and other resistance values to all the power armors. If you use these plugins, your power armor will have substantially greater Damage Resistance, Energy Resistance, and Radiation Resistance, with the addition of Cryo, Fire, and Poison Resistance. I excluded Electrical Resistance because it leaves electrical weapons as a power armor killer when other weapons might falter.

  • PAMultiplicativeResistances.esp - Main File. Contains edits to power armor lining object modifications.
  • PAMultiplicativeResistancesArmors.esp - Optional File. Contains my personal adjustments of the power armors themselves. Adds various resistances to the armors.
  • PAMultiplicativeResistancesAutomatronArmors.esp - Optional File. Contains my personal adjustments to the T-60 Tesla armor parts.
  • PAMultiplicativeResistancesNukaWorldArmors.esp - Optional File. Contains my personal adjustments to the T-51 suits found in Nuka World.
  • PAMultiplicativeResistancesALLDLCArmors.esp - Optional File. Combination of the Automatron and Nuka World plugins.

All optional plugins listed below require TheTalkieToaster's Damage Threshold modder's resource and Impervious Power Armor mod. Load the Impervious Power Armor plugin above these plugins.

Impervious Power Armor Compatibility Plugins:

  • PAMultiplicativeImperviousnessArmors.esp - Optional File. Same as the second file listed above, but adds the DT object effect to the vanilla power armors.
  • PAMultiplicativeImperviousnessAutomatronArmors.esp - Optional File. Same as the third file listed above, but adds the DT object effect to the Tesla armor components.
  • PAMultiplicativeImperviousnessNukaWorldArmors.esp - Optional File. Same as fourth file listed above, but adds the DT object effect to the Nuka World T-51 variants.
  • PAMultiplicativeImperviousnessALLDLCArmors.esp - Optional File. Same as fifth file listed above, but adds the DT object effect to the DLC power armors.

The main file should be compatible with any mods that directly alter the power armor records themselves, but do not alter the object modifications. This plugin alters only the object modification records.

The optional files are NOT compatible with any mods that directly alter the power armor records and will require a patch to function with other such mods. These files alter only the armor records.

Please read the sticky post before posting bug reports or comments about them.
