Update: I've not forgotten about this mod. The last update is still planned, but obviously I didn't get it done as soon as I had wanted to. It's still in the works, though!

    UPDATE DEC 2018:

I have recently gotten a new computer. My plan is to provide one more update, with a few new skin tones, and then push it to Bethesda.net for console users.
Since LooksMenu now provides the ability to choose custom hues, I will no longer be pushing for this mod to be added to the LMCC. Instead, I will leave this mod as it is, as a non-F4SE alternative

No, I was satisfied with the options for lighter skin tones and wanted to focus on darker ones. I did add some lighter options, including a very pale (but still natural) looking option in the old update, but it's not pale pale white.
LooksMenu allows custom hues, and I also link to a mod that does fantasy skin tones (including a very pale white) at the end of the description. Hopefully one of those will help you find what you're looking for. :)

Glad you're still at it. No rush.

I *would* suggest renaming Blushing as Flushed, however; blushing implies it is, well, a blush and that's heavier in the cheeks. There's a reason makeup for cheeks is called blush. A flush is more general, as in full-body flush.

Or maybe not. But it seems right.

If you can't see advanced features in Looksmenu, delete the file "Looksmenu.swf"

    ......Yer welcome!

Unfortunately, not showing up in showlooksmenu for me either. Load order:

    Spoiler:
    Show

I do not have the Body Triangle Enhancer or the Looks Menu Customization Compendium. I also tried a manual install, that did not work either.. Is it incompatible with texture/body mods? I use EVB and Real HD FaceTextures.

      Hi there,

It shouldn't be incompatible with face or body texture mods if they just use a standard skeleton or texture replacer (like CBBE does), but if the mod author edited the HumanRace data directly for some reason, it might cause issues. I will do some testing to try to figure out where the conflict is.

Alright, none of those mods you have loaded after More Skin Colors should be overwriting it, based on what they do, unless the mod authors made a very weird edit. I think from here, I need to you to do some testing since you have all the mods installed and I do not.

First, have you tested to see if the options are available at the start of a new game? Just to be sure, please start a new game and just look in the CC to see if the options are there. (If you quit the game right as Nate or Nora are turning to walk away from the mirror, you won't get saddled with an exitsave).

If that's not working, than next, please load your game and make a new save file in a new slot. Back up this save before we start testing.
If you don't know how to do this:
      Spoiler:
      Show

Now that your save is backed up, move MSC to the very end of your load order, load up your save and test the ShowLooksMenu command. If it is working, then quit the game, move the mod one position up in your load order, and test it again. There are only 5 possible mods that could be overwriting it, so if it works at the end your load order, it won't take long for us to nail down the culprit.

Let me know how those turn out. If neither work, I can walk you through how to use F4Edit to take a deeper look at what might be going on.

Well, sorry to say, none of that worked. I even de-activated texture files. I'm at a loss.

Edit. Turns out I had a corrupt save. Not sure what made me try, but going back 3 levels to an older save, and now it works! I really want to thank you for the help though, and maybe what you told me to try will help someone else! I'm loving my guy again. That was a total pita, but so worth it!

Thank you for testing that out. What a bummer that this isn't working, this is weird. The only problems I have ever seen with it before are when something is over riding the data I changed, since the mod is a very simple one and there are no scripts or anything like that to break or tamper with. I'm starting to suspect your copy of the file may be corrupted.

If you have been downloading it through the NMM client itself, let's try a manual re-download. Sometimes if you download things through NMM it doesn't download correctly.
Delete the mod through NMM first, and then open your file manager and navigate to your game's data folder, and make sure that moreskincolors.esp is gone. If it's not, delete it. Then, come back to this page and choose the "Manual Download" option. You can let it download to your default location. Open up NMM and add the mod by clicking on the big green Plus Sign in the upper left of the window, and then install it normally.

If that doesn't work, we can try using F4edit to try to get more information if you'd like to. I am happy to walk you through what I know if you want to continue troubleshooting, but it will get a little more technical from this point. If you don't have F4edit, you can download it from here: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2737/
It is a third party program, not a mod, so don't install it to the data folder.

I'm glad you figured it out! Hopefully my troubleshooting will help someone else, or they'll be able to check for a corrupted save.
It's useful for me to know that can happen, too.

      Have fun in the wasteland!

Ah come on don't blame console users for what the s*** heads of bethesda did. I've been waiting for this mod to come to console. Please would maybe rethink it over before you say no completely?

Aw, I'm really sorry. I will think it over carefully. It's not a desire to blame console users at all. I have some complex worries about the whole situation and taking part in their systems as a modder, which I've put under a small spoiler tag in case you don't want to read my rambling fears.

      Spoiler:
      Show

On the other hand, I'm sure all of us are going to keep buying their games and that gives them a lot more money than they might make off the modding community at all, so maybe it's all kind of a fake morality.

Long story short, I'll think about it for this particular mod. If I do, I still want to wait until it's finished anyway, so we have some time.

Hello. I use LooksMenu and sadly the new skin tones are not showing up. Tried loading this mod before AND after LooksMenu, no bueno.

Here is a paste bin of my load order: https://pastebin.com/j3vvYVT7

      Hi there!

I did some testing, and LooksMenu is not the culprit. The conflict is with the Body Triangle Enhancer. Unfortunately these two are straight up incompatible, whichever is loaded later in your load order will work, and cancel out the first one. This is the case with anything that edits the HumanRace data directly.

I would be happy to make a patch if anyone can help me do so. I have never made a patch before and don't know how to do it. That might take a little while, so in the meantime you will have to choose between them.

      I hope that was helpful!

    Version 2.0 is here!

This new version includes 5 new skin tones, with more light and medium skin selections, as requested. Some of the existing skin tones from version 1.0 have had slight adjustments to tone them down and make them look more natural. Expect small adjustments like these in every new update.

I have also changed and settled on a naming convention. Each skin tone has a name with the tag MSC## after it. This makes them easily identifiable so that you know when the mod is working and don't get them confused for vanilla colors.

    Hi Everyone,

I still have plans to add options into this mod, and maybe tweak one or two of the skin colors to be less red. I currently have a 1.1 alpha in progress with 5 new natural skin tones, but I haven't finished them mostly because I haven't been playing a lot of Fallout 4.

I will update the build number once those are released.

      Hi again everyone,

I went to work on the mod today in preparation for the 1.1 release, but my creation kit update (which is being updated after the Creation Club patch) keeps freezing on me and will not update properly. Until this is resolved, I will not be able to continue work on the mod. Hopefully I get it fixed soon.
