And now per request I've added a less glossy version of the coat, and a completely matte one. It's the same coat, as far as the game is concerned, but if you think your stealth style is hampered by being shiny, you have the choice now.
Hey. i read the description of the mod and it sounds good. the images look cool too, but i have two issues with it.
1) the punisher coat shouldn't be glossy/shiny. It should be normal black. like the matte black cars. 2) the skull is a bit too small.
So, here's my question. Is there any chance of you adding an ability to have the coat be the opposite of shiny, and an ability to have the skull be a bit more screen accurate? by ability, i mean the toggling mechanic. If some people want shiny, they can have shiny. if some people want non-shiny, they can have non-shiny. As a fan of the Netflix Punisher series I really would prefer to have the coat non-shiny and the skull to be bigger... especially if i were to do a Fallout Punisher series on youtube at some point. another thing is, the coat being glossy/shiny/whatever it is... doesn't do well for immersion concerning stealth.
Thanks for the honest feedback. It's hard to get good feedback these days, so I'm genuinely grateful for any I can get.
2. Well, it being a retexture, the size of the skull is limited by how much space there is visible on the vest under the coat. I suppose I could try to do a different outfit with just a flak vest or such, somewhat like the one in The Punisher: War Zone, so I get more space for the skull, but otherwise I'm constrained by the existing mesh.
1. Well, if you've seen my other stuff, you probably already suspect that I really like shiny stuff :p But I see your point. I suppose I could tone it down a notch in the material file.
Other than that, if you do a YT series, please send me a link when you do. Sounds like the kind of Let's Play I'd actually enjoy a lot.
i wrote this before i even attempted to download the mod as i hadn't had Fallout 4 at that point. when i did, i saw that there was a "no shine" version in the list of files for the mod(just checked when the no-shine version was added and saw that it was yesterday). as for the skull... that makes sense. since i intend to use the john bernthal face preset whenever i do a Punisher Playthrough, i'd like you to do the bulletproof vest that he had in the netflix series instead of the one from War Zone. unsure if the rest of the clothes from the netflix series is in the actual game so that'd be a nice addition. also, the long coat normally covers most of the skull in the netflix series except when the wind is blowing it back. in which case, you could add a normal black longcoat or we could even just use your shine-less version of this mod. i do want to do a youtube playthrough, but i need to be 100% certain the video and audio won't be out of sync. i have no editing skills so the playthrough would be uncut, and i would need some help ensuring the audio and video be in sync. as i don't want to put the link to the playthrough on this when/if i start it, i'd prefer to do it in a DM. However, after i get a fair amount into the playthrough you can add the video's link into this mod's description if you like. i'll be sure to add the links to the mods i'm using in the playthrough, but after i am 100% satisfied with the upload. lately, the video and audio have been out of sync when i upload videos. pls do DM me whenever, because i'm uncertain how to DM you.
Well, the problem is that there is no outfit in the game that has that kind of physics. Everything has cloth physics only for the part below the belt, if at all. E.g., for this one it starts about half way between hip and knee.
What I'm trying to say is that the skull wouldn't be half-covered just MOST of the time, it would be half-covered ALL the time. Which, really, I don't think is an improvement. When I'm playing as Frank Castle, I want the skull visible, darnit :p
Nor gadgets worth billions like Batman. Yeah, I can respect the heck out of him.
Though the main consideration was that ever since I got my (male) character through the intro and out the vault, it just occurred to me... hmm, army veteran, sees his family murdered, sets out to seek revenge... you know, I know this origin story. Eventually I just had to make the coat that goes with it.
- I tweaked the specular (glossiness) map for the "sweater" part a little. Think, simulating a bit more ambient occlusion between the threads. The difference isn't particularly visible most of the time, though.
- the "no logo" version now is just the different texture, so it needs the main file. On the upside, if you want to try both, now you don't download 10MB of duplicated files.
- increased the chance of it spawning at vendors
- increased the chance of it spawning in suitcases and prewar trunks very slightly
So basically, nothing spectacular. Just me tweaking things a little.
Very nice Moraelin, also long time no see. An amazing retexture, you should make more armor mods.

Ah by the way, have you thought of making Punisher outfits out of some of the other outfit in the game? While this is really cool and well made, it still kind gives off a lab coat vibe. The drifters outfit or maybe Macready's duster and hat would make great punisher gear too.
Well, the only reason I did this instead of using one of the others, is that I really like my outfits and my weapons clean. As you've probably noticed from some of my other work for NV and such. It would be an insult to my enemies if I killed them while wearing some torn and patched rag, after all.
And the thing is, some of the other outfits have jagged and torn edges already in the mesh. E.g., MacCready's duster actually has some triangles missing down there.
Now I realize that for most people that's actually a plus. It fits in the post-apocalyptic theme and all. But, you know, it's not fitting MY peculiar tastes.

Any chance for an esl-flagged-esp? I would do it myself, but the inclusion of scripts might mess things up if a compact its formids.
Great job!

Also now the logo can be removed or added back at any armour workbench, for no extra cost. So basically you don't need optional files any more.
