Hilda Hughes: An Institute Story

Join Director of Robotics, Hilda Hughes, as she investigates the Prototype Synth Project. In doing this, the player will be able to enter the memories of five pre-war citizens and then discover their post-war fates. However, all is not well in the Robotics Division. A synth has gone missing and Hilda isn't convinced it was a production error.

Starting the Mod
To start the mod, travel to the Robotics area of the Institute and speak to Hilda Hughes. Make sure you're not in the Institute Robotics cell or Institute Concourse cell when you load the mod, just to make sure it all loads correctly. If you're hostile with, or have destroyed the Institute, you won't be able to play the mod.

Length:
The mod should add at least an extra hour of game play which is made up of:
Five main quests
Six side quest
Five mini quests (these are quests for uncovering the fate of the people in each memory but they're too short to be full-fledged side quests)

Features:

Story integrated:
If the player has not yet completed the main narrative, Hilda will play a minor part. Introducing yourself to Hilda is now required to progress through the quest Institutionalised. In addition, Hilda will attend each of the Directorate meetings during the course of the game. Further from this, some amount of story progression will be required during the course of the mod. If you've already completed the story you'll still be able to play the mod. Don't worry, his mod does not modify any of the base game scripts. The mod has been tested thoroughly and won't cause any problems with the story.

Viewable memories:
The player will be able to view five memories, each of which has its own quest where the player will be able
to discover the fate of the pre-war resident.

Detective work:
As well as viewing memories, you must also investigate the disappearance of a synth. Interview staff and draw the best conclusion you can.

Fully voiced
All characters are fully voiced with lip synch, including the player character which makes use of base-game dialogue lines to interact coherently with the characters.

Dialogue-heavy
This mod has very little combat and what combat there is in the main story is optional. Instead it relies on the roughly 1088 lines of dialogue, including the player's, to tell the story. There is also plenty of reading to do if you fancy learning the stories of the memories.

New Division staff
A new staff member in Robotics, Advanced Systems, and SRB Divisions. Each character has a quest for you to complete and plays their own small part in the story.

New workshop NPCs:
During the course of the mod, depending on your choices, you may be able to recruit two unique workshop NPCs. They can be assigned anywhere but if assigned to stores, although they will generate money, you can't buy from them. To avoid spoilers I won't say who these NPCs are.

Compatibility:
This mod is likely to be incompatible with any mod which makes large changes to the Institute Robotics area. I have also added a new door to the Concourse area, added new items to the CIT building and Harbor Master hotel. There have been some reports that mods that restore the Institute cause problems with the mod. It's probably best if only use this on a save where you've not destroyed the Institute.

Donations
I've enabled donations for this mod, but by no means feel compelled to do so. I have no idea if my work is good enough to warrant this. Any donations given will go towards making future mods better by enabling me to compensate voice actors or possibly even texture and model artists.
