About this mod

Replaces sword animations with faster ones and rebalances melee weapons.

Permissions and credits
Melee combat in FO4 is pretty clunky, and most of the weapons feel painfully slow.  Unfortunately, the only way to change the speed on melee and unarmed weapons is by changing the animations.  Even worse, Bethesda only put four swinging animation sets and ONE punching animation set into the game.  Since I'm not an animator, I did what I could with what I had to work with.

There are two mods available here.  "Faster Swords" simply replaces the animations for the Chinese Officer Sword, Revolutionary Sword, and Walking Cane with those used for knives, making them faster and allowing the swords to thrust, as they should.  This makes the swords much more powerful, of course.

"Melee Rebalance" includes the "Faster Swords" changes, but increases the damage of most melee weapons to be at least comparable to other weapons with the same speed, while reducing the damage of the sped-up swords to make them more balanced.

Damage changes include:
Swords reduced from 16 to 13, speed increased
Baseball bats increased from 16 to 20
Machete increased from 14 to 15
Pipe Wrench increased from 13 to 14
Lead Pipe increased from 11 to 14
Tire Iron increased from 12 to 14
Walking Cane increased from 10 to 11, speed increased
Knuckles increased from 10 to 11
Board increased from 14 to 16
Pool Cue increased from 13 to 16
Rolling Pin increased from 11 to 13
Shishkebab increased from 13 to 15 (energy damage unchanged)

All other weapons' stats are unchanged.  Obviously these changes are not compatible with other mods that change weapon values, such as Weapon Balance Overhaul.  If you use any such mods, use "Faster Swords" only.

Grognak's Axe now correctly displays "Slow" speed, not the inaccurate "Medium."  It uses the same animations as all other 2-hand weapons, and swings at the same speed as they do.  The baseball bats use a slightly different animation, but still have the same speed.

Another thing I noticed but have yet to determine how to fix is that when in power armor, many 2-handed weapons are used with one hand and use the faster medium-speed animations, but only in third-person view.  Switching to first-person reverts the 2-handed weapons to their old, slow, 2-handed swings.  I will update this mod as soon as I figure out how to fix this.
