Yes, people, you can approximate some of this mod with console commands (just don't use forceav, modav is fine). Everyone knows it at this point, smug comments to that effect will be deleted because we're, quite frankly, all tired of hearing about it.
I tried to change from 2000 lbs to 99999 lbs. Wasn't updating. Had to remove mod. Save game and then reeable as instructed and worked great. Couldn't just reinstall and change weight.
setting my plugins.txt to read only with it enabled does not work; I have to re-enable the mod every time I launch, just like the no level reminder mod.
and considering how often fallout 4 crashes under PERFECT conditions, there's got to be a reason this happens
People saying it doesnt work at all need to learn how to read, there's literally a giant red "IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS" section in the description that explains why the change dont initially reflect on the character the first time the mod is loaded
Installed via Vortex; picked 300 base / 50 bonus, went ingame, entered a PA much to Danses liking, left it = no change. Buffed up with some buffout (much to Danses disliking) and the only change was from the buffout.
No idea why it does not work. Maybe a modpack conflict Vortex does not detect or its because its the 2023 FO4 GOTY release version from Gog (although weirder mods worked fine so IDK).
Most mods expect you to know what your doing, best I can say is install vortex; the easiest to use mod manager available atm.
To use vortex to download this mod simply select the vortex option, it will likely yell at you if you want to open it with vortex depending on your browser so just set it to always open with vortex if it does, and let vortex do its job.
Although if your a noob perhaps installing a collection such as A StoryWealth would be wise to get a feel of things and add whatever mod you feel like to it so you have a good base to start with.
One thing to look out for is plugin limit, you can see that in the plugin tab of vortex, do not go above 255 as that is the plugin limit and you will receive frequent crashes or straight up not launching at all.
If there is any more questions, I highly doubt these specifics noobs will come back and find this reply, feel free to look up some videos!
the mod isn't working for me I have adjusted my carry weight and no changes are still at 250. I have started a new character and it still won't work looking for solutions.

FYI for anyone that has that issue

Still works and please read the description if you have problems or if you want to avoid problems >,<
The following console commands will work to update base carry weight easily:
player.modav strength 1
player.modav strength -1
