  • Troubleshooting

Technical issues some people encounter with Fallout 4 are listed first. Play-through issues for the mod are listed second, in order of progression through the main quest and side quests. If you run across a bug, any detail you can provide is much appreciated.

    General Modding Issues

This mods conflicts with x, y or z, because when I install, the mod manager asks if I want to overwrite the files from x, y, or z mod

This mod uses assets, with permission, from lots of other mods.  When installing you might receive a message about whether you want to overwrite existing files.  Easiest to answer "yes to all" or "no to all".  If you've customized outfits in the mod using Bodyslide and are downloading an update to OAR, answer "no" on any outfits in the mod ...

  • Random Questions and Answers

Q: Can I play Outcasts & Remnants if I haven't played Fusion City Rising or Project Valkyrie or Depravity?

A: Yes.  The mods complement each other.  Play in whatever order you want. There's a guide here if it helps.

    Q: Load Order?

A: These can go high up in your load order. Most people order it (top to bottom) AAFusionCityRising.esp, OutcastsAndRemnants.esp, ProjectValkyrie.esp, then Depravity.esp. ProjectValkyrie.esp needs to be below OutcastsAndRemnants.esp in load order since OAR is a master to PV. The others are flexible.

If running v1.2 or higher, for load order considerations with respect to mods overhauling the Prydwen or Institute, please see Known Issues for details.

Q: Are the player and all NPC's in the mod voice...

Need Compatibility Patch if running Functional Displays mod and Fusion City Rising

Fusion City Rising is not compatible with Functional Displays without the Compatibility Patch located in the Misc Files section of the Fusion City Rising mod page.  Can result in CTD when loading main menu without the patch.

If you're also running the Project Valkyrie expansion, then see here for load order.

    Paradise Bunker Conflict

The B.O.G. bunker is built into a hillside south of Oberland Station.  Several vanilla assets (tree/minor rock disabling) were altered to make that work.

  • Required Files

You need an updated version of Fallout 4.  No other DLC or mods are required.

Outcasts & Remnants is a companion to Fusion City Rising, but you can play either mod first, or both at the same time.  Same with Project Valkyrie. As of v1.10, OAR doesn't require FCR in order to work.

The stories in both mods run parallel to each other and stand on their own.  A few NPC's and terminals in Outcasts & Remnants make reference to Fusion City, and those references will make more sense after playing Fusion City Rising, but you can play either mod first, or both at the same time.

We also recommend CBBE but it is not required.  The mod has a few NPC's in outfits that use the CBBE UV maps.  Without CBBE, the skin textures will look weird on those NPC's, b...
