The mod allows you to restore power armor frames from dead bodies on the spot, separating the frame from the body.

When you approach a dead NPC that has a Power Armor equipped with the help of this mod you will see a new option to interact with the body called RESTORE FRAME. Hit SPACE) and a short scene will start which takes 30 minutes of in-game time by default. At the end of the scene, you will see the power armor separated and standing next to the body.

The NPC will have the same body, the same face preset and the same inventory. The separated Power Armor frame will stand next to it with all the Power Armor parts equipped on it.

By the default settings of the mod Paladin Danse will like when you restore Power Armor frames. This can be modified with the settings holotape automatically added to your inventory under the Misc section. The holotape is called [Settings] Restore Power Armor Frames, and you can find it under the Settings Holotapes without the [Settings] prefix if you’re using mods like DEF_UI or Valdacil’s Item Sorting. In the holotape settings under Companion Reactions you can also set Strong to dislike or hate the event if you want.

Under Perk Requirements you can optionally set up any of the ranks of the Scrapper, the Armorer, the Locksmith, the Science! or the Nuclear Physicist SPECIAL perks to be a requirement for the ability to restore Power Armor frames.

Under Recovery Event Customization you can turn off the 30 minutes in-game time requirement of the event by setting the event to No in-game time required. Or you can keep the time requirement but optionally turn off the intermission music followed by the text saying "30 minutes later..." if you happen to find that annoying.

The settings holotape can also be crafted at the Chemistry Station under Utility if you don’t want to carry it around.

Much like the vanilla workbenches and workshops, tinkering with a dead body to restore a Power Armor frame requires you to leave your own Power Armor. The UI option will show up once you are in regular gear again.

You can also loot parts of the armor first, and then restore the frame. You will see that the exact same parts you left before will appear on the recovered frame. They will also be in the same condition as before so if you damaged your enemy, the armor parts will be damaged even after recovering the whole Power Armor with its frame.

The mod works well with the Cannibal perk. All you need to do is remove the frame first, and then you can feast on the unarmored corpse if that’s your cup of tea...

The mod may conflict with other mods that give you abilities with corpses wearing Power Armor. Let me know if you experience incompatibilities like that, and I'm happy to make a compatibility patch.

Avoid confined spaces if possible! Always loot everything first, then restore the frame if the body is in an awkward position or in a confined space. That's because clipping may occur after restoring the Power Armor frame which might prevent you from reaching the body after restoring the frame.

None at the moment.
