NOTE:  Don't install or use this mod if you use Horizon - Survival Mode Expanded, as it already uses the same code.


Update v1.1 - This version adds an optional for removing healing when sleeping.  Either or both options can be selected from the installer.



OVERVIEW

This mod simply removes the healing you receive every time you level up. 

I separated this from Horizon so everyone can have access to this game mechanic change in a stand-alone mod.


INSTALLATION

I recommend using the Nexus Mod Manager.

If you wish to manually install, be sure to copy both the ESP file and the entire "Scripts" folder.

The load order for this mod technically shouldn't matter, as it contains all new records.  This also should make it compatible with mostly everything.

You can also choose an optional to remove the ability to heal when sleeping.


HOW IT WORKS

I couldn't find any way to directly remove the healing that occurs each time you level up, so I created this system.  It works very similar to Bethesda's hardcore script which restores/removes your health after sleeping in survival mode.  My mod works very much like this, in that I remove the amount of healing you received immediately after a level-up.  

So you may briefly for 1 frame see the health bar go to full then right back to where it was.  This is normal.  If I can ever find a way to just outright remove the healing altogether, I'll update the mod, but I'm not sure it's even possible. 

I left in a debug message after you level, to ensure you can see the mod is loaded (in case the heal removal doesn't work.)  Example: "Level advanced: 7 to 8" which should appear with the default level up message.  I may remove this in the future.


FEEDBACK / BUG REPORTS

If you actually get healed upon leveling up, it may be likely that the scripts were not copied properly.  Make sure that the ESP file AND the scripts are installed properly.  If you do see that 2nd level up message I added, and it still heals you, let me know.  Also, make sure you weren't already at full health before a level-up, so I don't get any false reports.
