About this mod

Removes the recon scope markers from the HUD
For use with "Targeting Sensors on Recon Scopes"

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Targeting Sensors on Recon Scopes by Rcollpc provides an excellent alternative to the recon marker (hereto referred to as "plumbob") with actor highlighting when aiming with recon scopes, but that mod does not remove the plumbob.

You can hide floating quest markers in-game (Settings, Display, Show Floating Markers, set to OFF), by using Fallout 4 Configuration Tool by Bilago, or going to Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4prefs.ini and making sure that, under [Gameplay], you have:
bShowFloatingQuestMarkers=0

But this also removes the markers that actually are for quests. The plumbob will also still appear on your compass.

The alternative? Try this mod!

The "esp version" removes the ReconScopeEffect magic effect that produces the plumbob, so it won't come up on your compass either.

The older "swf version" which makes a minor edit to HUDMenu.swf by replacing the plumbob with a fully transparent element, although compass altitude pointers can still appear on marked enemies if you're above/below them. Anyone who does not want to hide the compass or enemy pointers/plumbobs through a mod like DEF_UI, feel free to request altitude pointer removal.

Installation - esp version
Download and activate with Nexus Mod Manager -OR- download manually, extract UnPlumbob.esp, move it to Fallout 4\Data, make sure it's enabled in your load order

Installation - swf version
Activate this after other mods that modify HUDMenu.swf. You can use Nexus Mod Manager (allow overwriting) -OR- in Fallout 4\Data\interface, make a copy and rename the original HUDMenu.swf, and extract the new HUDMenu.swf to the same location.
If you somehow lose the original file, reinstall any mods that modified it before -OR- Steam users who've not modified the SWF can use the "verify integrity of game cache" function.

Compatibility
The esp version should have no issues, UNLESS there's a quest or mod that relies on the ReconScopeEffect magic effect.
The swf version does work with DEF_UI, not sure about other UI mods
