I noticed you added a 1 second double vision blur option. I was using that until I tried using power armor for what it was for... ignoring small arms fire. Well, you cant ignore the double vision blur constantly... But, I wonder if it would be any worse than the default game blur that seems to be shorter?
I have a request. Could you upload a version of this mod that reduces the double vision blur to just half a second? That might be the sweet spot for me, because I cant get away from how much I like this mod, but how frustrating it makes playing power armor. There's got to be something that will work. Is a half second version even possible?
I added a new version with a half second blur when hit. more noticeable than the original effect but doesnt hinder vision really. while i dont like it because it removes the point of the mod (which is to cause you grab cover if taking fire) but for those who into it - it's there
For me it is a good reminder that I AM being shot at, without changing combat tactics much. I already take cover when I realize I am being hit - vanilla effects are faint enough that I don't notice right away. Thank you for this mod!!

and thanks for the half second version! as dizzy said above me i just dont like the harsh effect while being in power armor - if there was a version with vanilla reaction in power armor id go for the 1s blackscreen! love it <3
What mod are you using in your video that makes your character have vocal reactions to getting hit? Like the coughing and such. At least I'm assuming it's a mod. I know the PC will grunt when hit in Vanilla, but I don't remember the coughing.

I posted a long time ago asking if someone could make a mod that would cause you to stagger when you're being hit, as well as remove or reduce the blood splatter. The only way I can stand the gunplay (especially at high level) is by telling myself that my armor that I've worked so hard to customize and bulletproof is doing its job. But then it's really aggravating when I'm spouting blood through my armor but not actually hurt very much (not to mention passing out then dying...), and otherwise barely affected by being hit.
Do you think you could produce these effects with your mod?? Maybe in combination with the stagger mod you reference, which by the way I am going to go install as soon as I am done installing your mod- thanks a lot for pointing it out! And what about sound effects of bullets hitting your armor, is that moddable...? For example, taking a headshot while wearing a metal helmet that made a loud impact noise then staggered you would be incredible!

tested your mod and it is a great fun. Now I had really find some cover if there are to many bullets hitting my armor. Used the double vision 1 second version. Does I also get this effect in Power Armor? Shouldn't be so.
maybe someone can lend you a hand with the script implementation. Seems to me that it is a one liner script. But I have no experience with papyrus and FO4 scripting
The double vision w red tint is really nice, a little tough in game in my taste (due to its duration), but much more immersive! I was wondering if you could you make an additional version of the double vision & red that lasts less than 1 second instead of 2 ? Just to produce the nice "ouch!" effect, impairing very very briefly your aim but without necessarily forcing you to dive into cover and wait 1 second for the next shot. It could fit a larger spectrum of gameplay styles and tastes, and reach quite the perfection (imho).

This mod makes enemies and player stagger when hit by bullets.
edit: still using it months later. still one of my favorite mods.
Overcome unrealistic combat hits...? Omit un-immersive... man, that's a challenge.
