SUMMARY:

These are numerous separate re-texture mods, in two parts.  Part one remakes the look of the Minutemen.  Part two is a collection of mods that are intended to create a lore-friendly 1950s military look.

Simply for organizational purposes, I re-labeled all the non-minuteman files as "Optional."

When you look at the images, note that there are multiple pages of images.

PERSONAL NOTES:

The more people endorse this file, the more that other people will see it when browsing.  (Yup, call it a self plug, but... I make this stuff for people to use and really hope they enjoy my labors.)

Finally, I'd like to hear people's thoughts on what I have done and see images of my mods people are using in the game.  So, feel free to post images of your characters wearing my re-textures.  (But since this page isn't flagged as adult, keep em clean please.)

Thank you for looking,

Oldwolfe

THE MODS:

Part 1) THE MINUTEMEN REDONE:

This is a series of related textures intended to change the look of the Minutemen.

Historically, the original Minutemen were not part of the standing army.  They were volunteer militia.  They had no standard uniform and wore whatever they had at hand.  Truthfully, brown probably was the most common color among them.

FYI: The red and gold pin holding the right side of the Minuteman Hat brim up is an actual US Army Minuteman pin.  (Although larger than the real thing.)

Power Armor Re-textures

To use my Minuteman Power Armor re-texture there are two options available to you.

a) To have the Minuteman Power Armor textures as a stand alone added paint job, you must first download Invock's MMP4APA - Minuteman Paint for ALL Power Armors mod.

Use his "Gray" version.

Then after you have that installed you need to install my "Minuteman Power Armor" file over top of his.

Installing this way will have an added paint job named "Minutemen" that adds +1 charisma when all pieces are worn.

Credits go to Invock and thanks to him for allowing me permission to do this.

Invock's mod is necessary to make this re-texture work.

b) To simply use my power armor textures as a replacer, no other file is needed.  Simply install the "Power Armor Flames Replacer" file and it will overwrite the Hot Rod Flames textures.  However, each armor piece will still say "Flames" on it, and it will have the +1 agility stat when all pieces are worn, like the flames do.

NOTE:

The Minuteman Shoulder Bag and the Minuteman Ammo Pouch are my re-textures of part of the Wearable Postman Shoulder Bag mod.  Details and link below.  Eferas' mod is necessary to make these re-textures work.

Part 2) THE PLUS:

Various 1950s Lore Friendly Re-Textures.  I had a write-up here for each and every one.   However it was simply getting too big.  So all I'll say is that my aviator sunglasses seem to be the overwhelming favorite, and personally I like my Newsboy Cap.  For all the rest... browse the images.

NOTE:

The Dirty Medic Bag is my re-texture of the Wearable Postman Shoulder Bag mod.  Details and link below. Eferas' mod is necessary to make this re-texture work.

CREDITS AND REQUIREMENTS:

The Minuteman Power Armor re-texture was done with permission from Invock and requires his MMP4APA - Minuteman Paint for ALL Power Armors mod in order to function.

I collaborated with TheLazyGrizzly on making the Massachusetts Air National Guard Bomber Jacket.  It can be found on Griz's outstanding USAF Bomber Jacket - Standalone page.  You can see several screenshots of it in my images.

The Dirty Medic Bag and Minuteman Shoulder Bag textures I posted require the Wearable Postman Shoulder Bag mod by Eferas.
My texture is posted here with his permission.

INSTALLATION:

It is rather simple to install any of my mods.

These are all simple drag and drop re-textures and a few meshes.  They only affect existing items in the game and adds no new content.

1) If you have not yet installed any mods at all, you need to change some .ini files to make the game capable of recognizing mods.  IF you have already done this, skip down to step two.

a) Go to \Documents\My Games\Fallout 4\

b) In your Fallout 4.ini, edit the following line:

Under the [Archive] section, create a new variable: bInvalidateOlderFiles=1

  • In Fallout4.ini, under the [Archive] section, create a new variable: bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
  • Then change sResourceDataDirsFinal= "Whatever is here" to be blank, just like this:  sResourceDataDirsFinal=

c) In your Fallout4Prefs.ini file, add the following line under [Launcher]:

bEnableFileSelection=1

2) Install the mod by using Nexus Mod Manager or:

a) Downloading one of my files and unzip it.

b) Find the textures and/or meshes folders in my files.

c) Copy and paste them into your computer's:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout 4\Data

That's all there is to it.
