Flipping the radio speaker switch in the castle gives you the local leader perk.

Formerly Castle gives local leader
When you become the general of the minuteman you not only gain a flare gun, but the local leader 1 perk. After you take the castle back and turn on the radio speakers you will gain local leader 2. if you activate the speakers and don't have local leader 1 you will receive the perk as well.
