the Flowers are Gorgeous .. but if i place a potted rose plant on a table to decorate inside a house ~ is a Settler going to come and try to Farm the Floor underneath the table?
My name is David and I've started using this mod and I'm rather enjoying it in survival. The only question that seems to be on the back of my mind lately is: Do you have a Valdacil's compatibility patch for auto-sorting? Most of the mods I utilize are all organized using the latest AWKCR, DEF_UI and Valdacil's Item Sorting mods. Only curious about this because it would be nice to sort these with the rest. Thank you for your time, hope to hear from you soon.
This mod is so beautiful, I have been dreaming of these roses every night! lol I have asked CordlessVII to port it over for me to Beth net. These would be perfect for my flower shop build and also for a Valentine's Day build. Even if I don't get to use the mod, at least I can come back and look at all the pretty pictures :) Lovely work, thanks for sharing!
I absolutely love this mod, the only thing that bugs me is the colours of the roses.... They're too... Hmm.. Well the colours don't match proper roses... Is there any chance for an edit on that? If I knew how to import textures I'd give it a go myself, but I have no idea how it works... x_x
I hear you, they look cartoonish almost in comparison to the leaves. I can explain how to do basic textures but I cannot explain the advanced stuff because I suck at it. For the leaves I collected a bunch of images of the leaves that match the plants that are public domain then pasted them onto one texture as layers. rotated the layers and scaled them, then matched the colors. After that I did the models so it would look like a plant... kinda the opposite way of making a model, usually make the model then do the texture is the way to go. For the rose petals I couldn't find an image of one that would work with my skills in Photoshop so made the model and did my best at texturing. Yes it doesn't look real and yes I suck basketballs at Photoshop. They are properly UVW mapped but stacked up so a single seamless tile will work, just cannot be a tile of a single rose petal with any details like a stem running through it. A universal petal texture that works in any orientation.
MajaroniArt, IDK if this helps, but Homemaker has pink rose bushes. You can't harvest them, though.
That said, I actually like the colors - my grandmother was big into growing roses and creating hybrids, so the colors are not as cartoonish as one might think.
Also, I stuck a couple in front of Anne what's-her-face's clothing stall in hopes that she would stop musing about how fresh flowers would brighten the place up. It didn't work (of course) but I got a giggle out of it.
Terrific mod! I really like the new recipes, too. Also, although I hadn't gotten to the stand yet, I found that, other than the fern, I had the items available for planting. I'm assuming this is a change from the description, but if so, thank you!
