Tweaked Fallout 4 cfgs for awesome performance, i have 50+ fps Diamond City with fx6300 and r9 280x. It taxes Visuals some but its awesome for performance. Im a experienced FPS player and this has necessary tweaks only, nothing fancy that you might dislike for UI etc.

!! These CFGs could also hugely benefit for High/Ultra quality visuals, you would just need to turn up the visuals in Fallout 4 Launcher as explained below. !! Id strongly recommend you to try it if you want better performance no matter what image quality your aiming for.

It tweaks shadows and removes godrays, fixes mouseacc and adds fov 110 + other tweaks.

Installation Instructions

Backup your old cfg files, extract these to Documents\My Games\Fallout 4 or whever ur fallout4 cfg dir is. Edit
sD3DDevice="AMD Radeon R9 200 Series" line in fallout4prefs.ini to whatever is in your original cfg.

Set both files to read only then start fallout4 launcher. I wouldnt touch godrays and shadow qualty but try setting shadow distance to low if current setting is not working out for you. Set the other values to whatever you like, it might decrease performance but you wont make and changes in the cfg it since its read only.

When i finally found ot what settings are best for me  is i make a copy of the cfgs and then i remove read only from the two current cfgs, then i start the launcher. There i edit the settings to those that works best for me, start fallout 4 then i alt tab and put read only to both files again.

If you find any improvements please post them and ill update the cfg.

A NOTE FOR AMD USERS!!

I read that tesselation in fallout 4 taxes huge performance for amd cards, go to catalyst control center and add a custom profile for Fallout 4 and override tesselation settings, set it to something like 4-16.
