INTRODUCTION / PROBLEM

I recently ran into what i can only assume is a bug. This bug caused me to be unable to communicate with my 'Companions' (Dogmeat and Ada are the only know ones with the issue as i haven't 'met up' with my other Companions yet to fully verify this). As i may or may not have raged out and killed Ada, this will initially be focused on fixing Dogmeat for now... My current estimation is that this issue is caused by either mod or console use. I'm leaning towards the Console use, because the mods i have activated are only for settlements, but it's still a possibility.

After a little bit of research and a review of all of the available Console Commands for Fallout 4. I believe i found a solution. I also cannot verify it is 100% safe to use as this requires the modification of Faction Data via Console Commands. So if you feel hesitant or uncomfortable in any way, you may want to look elsewhere.

SOLUTION

I initially thought of restarting a new game (for the 100th time) but it turns out it was a matter of resetting assigned Factions through Console Commands. In order to do this you have 2 options; 1 you can download the file and run it on the console and it will do the work for you. Or 2 you can review the written commands below and input them yourself.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Open the Console with the Tilde Key (~)

Type1d162.RemoveFromAllFactions

then

1d162.AddToFaction 1c21c 1

This will remove dogmeat from all assigned factions (and reset all stats regarding those individual factions) and then assign him to your Characters Faction. I recommend having dogmeat close by after doing so. When you walk up to him and initiate the dialogue it will activate the first dialogue sequence. Which is when you first met him at Red Rocket. Therefore, this will initiate the ability to reassign him as your companion.

Notes:
1d162 is the id of Dogmeat
1c21c is the id of the Faction for your Character (Player)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd like to give a reminder that this issue was tested on Dogmeat exclusively and appears to have worked in restoring the Dialogue. If anyway is having issues with other companions or i have some spare time, i will test it on ALL other Companions and update the bat file.
