Thanks - I downloaded the second one (requiring 7zip) - and this worked for me whereas I couldn't get B.A.E. to run (despite having up-to-date C++ files). Oh, and regards previous comments on viruses, well I'm running Windows 10 (22h2) and it did not report any suspicious files in the current download, and just to be sure I manually told Windows Security to scan the folder and it said all was fine. Cheers.
iv recently hit my BA2 limit and am slowly removing mods until I drop back down the limit. it would be awesome to have a tool or an executable in MO2 that tells us how many actual BA2s we have. is this tool capable of doing that? Thanks in advance.
There is a virus in the archive. The Mod Configuration Menu mod has the same virus. Please, check your PC with Max Security (it's the only one AV which is able to find the virus to the moment) to understand how many files on your PC are affected. The virus "loves" games and their files (it's infecting either .exe or libGLxxxx.dll files).
For me it was started by SMS from my bank, containing the information of invalid payments from my credit card. Hopefully, nothing was stolen yet, but I'm afraid that this may happen any day. Then, I have installed Max Security and it tried to prevent virus spreading, but unsuccessfully. The virus in Fo4 mod archives is a trojan, which spreading itself where it can, but it has another part(s), which even Max Security can't detect. After whole system scan by AV and deleting all infected files, the infection continued. Because of this I've reinstalled the whole OS.
Anyway, even if you don't believe me, be careful with mods on Nexus. For instance, Buffout 4 NG archive on Nexus is not infected, but its .dll file was infected with the same virus on my system.
I will try to rebuild BSA Browser from sources, but I need time to install MSVS.
Most likely you were already infected or infected after download these mods.
The fact that only Max Security can detect it isn't necessarily a positive for them and could just mean it's a false positive. BSA Browser has had this false positive forever now, nothing new. So far you are the only one that has claimed to get infected.
Well, further investigation shown that MaxSecure is probably PUP, which randomly "finds" viruses or whatever. Malwarebytes, Dr.Web has even marked MaxSecure's installer as malware :) As of real world issues, probably you're right. Still, it's better to over care than under care in the matters of own money. Thanks and sorry for misleading, have a nice day.
Not sure if this applies here, but I am trying to look around in F76's Ba2 Archives, and while I can see all the files, the tree menu on the left keeps glitching out and refuses to show me the file structure. Is this a bug, or is it the way F76 archives are made? Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Disabling the sorting feature seems to work, but it still seems to be glitchy in the first place, I assume because the archive is almost 3GB.
Unfortunately, I'm going to be away because of work next 2 days so I can't help rn. But I'll message you again when I'm available (not promising in 2 days, might be tired, hehe)
Would it be possible to implement an import feature? Archive 2 is being used for extracting as it is to my understanding. I wonder how difficult it would be to add importing files as a feature aswell as extracting them
Import files into an archive? If so no, editing archives is a huge endeavor I don't want to take on. I don't use Archive2 so I would have to write everything from scratch.
I get an unsupported texture that missing dds header when trying to extract Nuka Project?. Why is this happening? does the mod have a faulty texture that might cause crash if I load the game with it?
I realize this when I try to extract it using bsa browser because I wanted to integrate the mod to vanilla .ba2
I've looked into it, it's not a faulty texture but it's a texture I currently don't know how to handle. It's at least one glow map. I'm gonna try to figure it out.
Yes there is. Open both archives then go to "Tools -> Compare Archives...", then in the two boxes on top (Archive A & Archive B) select each archive and it will show you which files are unique to each archive, which ones are shared and which of those are the same or changed.
I have this problem and i tried to do it by myself but i couldn't find a way to delete or move files from the archive. I'm 100% sure it's possible and i'm just dumb af
Well, poop. That's exactly what I was going to ask about.
The Beach Cottage is messed up precisely because the modder edited the female body 3 times for some reason, and the only way to fix it is to remove those 3 files from the ba2 file. Folks in the comments there act like it's no problemo.

P.S. Funny, but MCM 1.32 has another virus (before 5 in row virus reports about latest trojan):
1.32: VirusTotal - File - 7ed111e3c80b103dccf91b650246955955ddce924aa299bd00a4d8d269a08683
vs 1.39 (latest): VirusTotal - File - 5591318d5e97eee14162d0a67782dc2c2032817cba37900e90ca4d9658da1a14
4 years, millions of downloads...

What exactly is happening when you try?
Specifically the sub folders.
EDIT: just checked with the "Sort Archives" option ticked, and it doesn't expand the Meshes folder.
With the option unticked, it opens fine.
BTW, I thank you for your time to address this small issue.

Only way I know how to do that is extract everything and re pack it, I'm sure there are guides for creating archives available.
