I now consider this mod "finished" so as of version 2.6 there will likely be no more updates. Version 2.6 was a balance pass after playing to level 79 on hard and mostly only using stimpacks for emergencies and limb damage. I am very proud of the end results and hope that anyone who uses it finds it as enjoyable as I have. Thank you for the feedback and endorsements.

edit: minor fixes carried over from the unofficial patch. I don't expect to do any more modding for Fallout 4 in the future, but I do check the nexus regularly. If for any reason you want to use all or part of this mod, feel free to message me and I will give permission.

Update: Thank you Reshirou for the updated VIS-G version (in optional files).

Hah, I have no memory of making the VIS-G version whatsoever; I forget I have memory problems sometimes hahaha

I just came back to this phenomenal overhaul to draw a bit from it for my own overhaul that includes food, but instead of touching Lead Belly I'm doing the idea you had in 2016 under DonDorscha's Immersive Food Overhaul, where recipes and things are locked behind "cookbooks" in various vendor inventories!

(I'm also inspired by your Legendary changes too, but I have a few different ideas for nerfing the obtuse amount of gear you get)

Great! feel free to copy any changes I made that you want to use in your mod :)
This is probably pretty outdated and it might be worth looking at my food changes in Lunar Fallout Overhaul also (it probably has some fixes).

Gotcha; I'll, y'know, to put it bluntly, dissect that instead lol, tyvm

I really like this mod, but it seems to be at least one of the culprits of a problem I've noticed. When my character is hungry in survival difficulty, I get no radiation at all from food until the "hungry" effect is gone. I looked around in FO4Edit but I see no obvious conflicts, and disabling this mod fixes the issue.

Interesting, I haven't heard other survival players having this issue and I'm trying to think of what would cause it. The best I could think of would be maybe another mod that uses scripts to alter how food effects work somehow not getting along with the changes in this mod. I'm sorry I don't have a clear answer for you at the moment. I haven't touched Fallout or modding in 3-4 months and am just poking around to re-familiarize myself. If you want to PM me your mod list I could see if anything stands out,

Same thing is happening with me. A shame, it sounds like this mod is really interesting...

This is a built in survival mechanic. I believe I fixed this in Lunar Fallout Overhaul, but I can't find which version I did it and don't remember what I did. If I figure it out I will add that fix here.

Looks like the forum for this is pretty much abandoned but I'm gonna take a shot anyway.

    1. Is dirty water suppose to be boil-able?
    2. If so, should there be some rads reduced?
    3. Otherwise whats the point of being able to boil water if the rads received from boiled water is the same as dirty water?

Yeah, I haven't touched this mod in ages, so I can't recall, but there's a vanilla recipe to convert dirty water into purified water. I don't believe I removed that or added rads to purified water.

la version 2.6.1 intègre le tri VIS-G
Il faudrait deux versions de votre mod:
    1 AVEC tri VIS-G
2 SANS tri VIS-G pour ceux qui ne l'utilisent plus.
    Ce serait plus pratique;)

while i do like the concepts from this mod, the cheap reason i'm dropping it is because only some things are labeled as (food) and (drink) for no apparent reason, and i'm not even using the item sorting version, literally no other item in my playthrough has this kind of sorting name

here's the VIS-G version - it is a replacer main file of course, not just a patch.

I actually decided to only use the Soda Is For AP mod of yours actually in the end so I'll also give you a VIS-G version of that too, and will have some separate mod patches for anything that adds in new soda, like Wasteland Imports or Dr. Quench or Vim Expanded (or whatever those last two are called)

I made an updated VIS-G patch, but it's a replacer plugin, and this entire mod is a plugin
    so
do you still check the nexus so you can upload it?

    Hi moonracer,
I noticed that some of your mods, mainly your chem and food rebalance don't carry over fixes from the unofficial patch.
Most of those are minor issues like missing keywords or missing sounds.
But there also some larger bugs like Roast Yao Guai giving 500% melee damage instead of the advertised 10.
So it might be a good idea to quickly compare your mods to the unofficial patch and carry over the fixes.

Oh damn, I thought I did that at one point. Yeah, I haven't touched fallout in a while, but I need to fix that. Thanks for the heads up.
