Hotkeys to equip gasmasks for yourself and your companion

Hotkey Gasmasks
FO4 Hotkeys required, manual installation only
Usage:
Equip yourself and your companion (Piper by default) gasmasks with Shift 1 and unequip with Shift 2
Installation:
1) Install FO4 Hotkeys first
2) Drag and drop the archived text files to your Fallout 4 directory (steam/steamapps/common/Fallout 4)
3) Launch Fallout 4
4) Open console, type "hotkey shift-1 bat gasmask_equip" without the quotations, press enter. Followed by "hotkey shift-2 bat gasmask_unequip" without the quotations and press enter.
The console commands are a one off thing, and don't need to be typed again unless the hotkey is changed.
How to change companion:
1) Open gasmask_equip.txt in your Fallout 4 directory
2) "prid 00002f1f" will need to be changed to the reference ID of the companion you desire (refid's for each companion listed below)
3) Repeat for gasmask_unequip.txt
If you are changing these after you have assigned these commands to the hotkeys, they do not need to be reassigned and will continue to function
You do not need to close and relaunch your game after editing the files

Known issues:
-As near as I can tell there is currently no way to have it toggled on and off with the same hotkey which kinda sucks but I can live with it
-If you don't already have a gasmask for yourself and your companion, this mod will automatically add one to your inventory and then equip it. There's no way around this without F4SE and I don't intend to change this, I don't even know if F4SE currently has the required functionality for this kind of thing
-Sometimes your companion may not equip the gasmask after hitting the hotkey, usually after first loading into the game. Just tap the equip key again if this is ever the case and it should fix itself immediately

I'm currently looking into making a texture overlay for first person view while wearing a gas mask, if anyone has any clue let me know
