Recruitable Settlers

Recruitable Settlers currently adds 50 named NPCs (including 14 level 4 merchants) to the Commonwealth, Nuka-World, and Far Harbor that can be recruited by the player and added to settlements simply by walking up and talking to them.  Some settlers work the same as vanilla settlers, while others offer passive bonuses to your settlements, or provide level 4 merchant services without the hassle of farming random spawns.

Recruitable Settlers Features:

38 Recruitable Settlers:

  • 12 Basic: Same as the vanilla settlers. Can be recruited without any prerequisites and offer no bonuses.
  • 16 Better: May require a quest to be completed before they can be recruited.  Offer small passive settlement bonuses such as happiness, food production, and increased income.
  • 10 Best: Requires a quest to be completed and/or located in a high level area.  Offers level 4 merchant services when assigned to the correct type of store.

Configuration Holotape:

  • Located in Vault 111 on Overseer's desk.
  • Can be crafted at the Chem workstation under the Utility section as of v3.0.1.
  • Toggle settler status between mortal, protected, or essential (protected by default).
  • Track settlers you haven't recruited yet.

Bonus Feature: specialized eyes for various settlers are available for use by the player (Blue synth, yellow synth, and green irradiated)

Recruitable Settlers: FH Features:

12 Recruitable Settlers:

  • 4 Basic: Same as the vanilla settlers. Can be recruited without any prerequisites and offer no bonuses.
  • 4 Better: May require a quest to be completed before they can be recruited.  Offer small passive settlement bonuses such as happiness, food production, and increased income.
  • 4 Best: Requires a quest to be completed and/or located in a high level area.  Offers level 4 merchant services when assigned to the correct

    type of store.

Configuration Holotape:

  • Can be crafted at the Chem workstation under the Utility section.
  • Toggle settler status between mortal, protected, or essential (protected by default).
  • View settlers recruitment status and bios.
  • Reset individual or all settlers

Important Note for Nuka-World owners:

When recruiting settlers with Nuka-World installed you will initially be able to assign them to both normal and raider settlements.  However, once they are assigned to a settlement they are locked in and can only be sent to other settlements of the same type. E.G. If you assign a settler to a normal settlement they can only be moved to other normal settlements and if you assign a settler to a raider settlement they can only be moved to other raider settlements.  This is due to the way Bethesda scripted the raider settlement system and I have not found a way to override it.

Installation:

  • Use NMM to download, install, and activate.
  • Extract all files to your Fallout4 Data folder then activate through in game menu.

Compatibility:

Shouldn't be any issues.  This mod does not edit any pre-existing scripts or quests. It only adds new NPCs and several quests for the dialogue. Several objects have been added or moved in the locations where the NPCs are found.  This mod has been cleaned with FO4Edit.
