About this mod

More complex generator recipes requiring specific items. Because you shouldn't be able to find the components for a fusion reactor at your local Super Duper Mart.

***An ALL-IN-ONE version of my Realistic Construction Recipes series is now available at All-In-One Realistic Construction Recipes

Did you ever wonder how the Sole Survivor is able to take a few pieces of steel, gears, and some elbow grease and put together a complex, fully-functional fusion reactor?

Not with this mod you won't!

This is part two of my Realistic Construction Recipes series of tweaks, this time focusing on generators.

I've always thought the crafting recipes in Fallout 4 were way too simple and lenient, especially when we are spending hours finding virtually a hundred unique pieces of junk in the wasteland.  I had always wished that more crafting recipes required specific items which would logically be required to construct the recipe.  This mod goes hand in hand with my Realistic Construction Recipes - Turrets , Realistic Construction Recipes - Workbenches , and Realistic Construction Recipes - Lighting mods, because making a fusion-powered, missile-protected settlement should require more than a trip to your local Super Duper Mart.

What It Does:
This mod updates the generator crafting recipes to include a few objects that the generators would logically require to function.

I would like to make it so that you get some of these components back when scrapping the generators, not just a handful of steel and rubber like before, but the recipe forms themselves do not seem to allow you to control what the scrapping rewards are.  So far this only seems to work with the fusion generator, but if I can find out why it works for that one and not the others I'd like to tweak that too.

Need More Power?
I've also created an OPTIONAL, ALTERNATE .esp which increases the medium and large generator's outputs to 7 and 25 respectively, to balance with the more uncommon items they require and give you a little more bang for the buck.

***When installing, please choose either the Main file or the "More Power" file, NOT BOTH***

For Wasteland Workshop owners, there is also an optional .esp that adjusts the Fusion Generator as well, which can be used with either of the two base files.

Compatibility:
This mod should be compatible with any other mod so long as they do not edit the crafting recipe for the generators, or if the alternate MorePower.esp was chosen, if they do not edit the power output of the medium and large generators.

Here are the new recipes for the generators.  You may want to make a note of these because of the recipe scroll bug and v1.5 generator recipe bug (see "Known Bugs").  The recipes are in the ReadMe as well.
Entries marked with a (*) are my additions to the recipe.

Known Bugs:
-The crafting window is only able to show a certain number of items before scrolling is required, and to my knowledge, even though a scroll arrow appears there is at present no way to actually SCROLL the recipe window.  There is nothing I can do about this, so I have provided the crafting recipes above until either Bethesda fix the bug or a UI mod comes along that does so.

-Since the launch of the version 1.5 (survival overhaul) update, the recipes for the small/medium/large generators appear empty, replaced by just a lightning bolt, but only when all requirements for the recipe are met.  When the requirements are not met, they display fine (fusion and windmill always display correctly).  This is a bug in Bethesda's master files, not my mod.  I have not been able to find a fix for this, but if you know of one I'd love to hear it, as it's been driving me crazy for months.

Thank you so much for checking my mod out!
