    A small request: any chance we could get this on the lever action rifle? And any chance you can mod the cocking animation between shots into the classic flip cock? that would be so badass. I dunno, i have a real liking for lever action in general so something similar for that would seem cool, it too has a shot stock, looks pretty pistol ish, something like the Mare's Leg. Just a suggestion. Great mod otherwise, thanks

      Man, I wish I was the guy for that. I have never animated a thing in my life, I just converted the hunting rifle model to fit with the bolt pipe pistol animations for this one. I would love to see something like that, especially a compact one.

    I love the mod but I have a request. I understand the point is for this to be a pistol but between the shotgun reciever and overbarrel suppressor would it be possible to bring back the stocks and maybe have them work like the base game in that with the stock the Marksman pistol would become a rifle in animation and perks? I'd just really like to have a rifle and pistol duo to use. As is I mostly use the pistol for close quarters especially when running a domination perk (cause using what is a 8x-20x scope in doors to try and calm is a pain). Again all and all a great mod.

      To change the animations to rifle ones would require changing all the meshes back. Instead, sometime in the future I could add mods like the over barrel suppressor and shotgun receiver to the hunting rifle, if that's along the lines of what you're asking.

      That would be nice. So its currently a limitation with the game thats the issue? Was just under the assumption it'd be a simple thing given laser pistol/rifles swappingbased on the stock in the base game. Have't had much time to dabble with mod building this Fallout yet >.> Thanks for the fast reply though.

      That's because Bethesda made the models and then the animations (pretty sure). I have to adjust the models to work with other animations. I could build the pistol into the vanilla hunting rifle, but that would be complicated. I could add the stocks in, but it's a pistol. The best option for me is to add the mods onto the hunting rifle.

      Ah... I see, thats more or less what I had been thinking, never can have everything nice and simple with modding. I appreciate all your effort and look forward to seeing just how far you take this mod.

      Always looking for suggestions, once I get a few more ideas for the next update I will include a few of the mods for the hunting rifle as a standalone addon to this mod. Till then, enjoy!

      Well if at all possible a marksmen grip that uses the textures from the marksmen stock/body would be nice as most retextures of the hunting rifle are specifically for the marksman stock.

    Amazing mod!! I always loved this mod ever since the 1st faster caliber change for hunting rifle. And now it uses pistol animation!! (Only if someone did this for sawed-off shottys my life would be complete!) Question however dose it use pistol perk? Whatever the case this mod far deserves more acknowledgment. Thank you so much and appreciate the time you put into this

      I love what you did with the silencer by the way.. metal grip was also fancy.. just too big for my taste... idk how hard it would be to compact it... lol one can dream.. I'm not sure tho, have no idea how it works, I may be wrong but, I believe mods that spawn items in a open cell like red rocket or senctuary might cause a cell reset.. I would stick to placing it in a loading cell, concord's museum is a awsome choice.. as for red rocket I wouldn't risk it...

      The cave under red rocket isn't far from its original location. And the museum of freedom is a excellent choice, the gun itself has a antique feeling to it, what better place to get a flint like hand gun then a museum! Removing it from Red rocket would solve any mod conflict it has with mods that alter it like spring cleaning and scrap everything..

    Great idea but these are not technically pistols at all since they use rifle animations. Can you take care of that please?

      If you look at my future plans, you'll see that that's in the pipeline. It requires some reworking of the mesh I believe and I don't have the experience for that at the moment. I'm learning more about the creation kit and will be working on the animations very soon.

      I'm going to work on pistol animations next update. Sadly I can garrentee the animations will look off and there won't be a real fix for this since I'm limited to vanilla animation sets. Still, I will do my best!

    I like the this idea very much, but may I suggest that you bump up the damage a bit, say 10-20 % better than the regular ingame hunting rifle, simply because there is no real incentive to use this mod when the normal rifle out-performs it by 30+%.

    I would do this across the board for all the calibers used.

      I was trying to balance it a bit since these can be fired more rapidly than the hunting rifle, but I will probably add a patch for better damage in the future. Thanks for the suggestion!

      I'd like to make a few more suggestions. After having used this mod for a while now, I would substantially jack up the damage for all calibers. I would also radically restrict the weapon to really close range. My logic is this, first off the reload time is long and if you have a pack of ferals on you, there really isn't time for second or third shots at the same target. Having said that there's no point in competing against the rifles at longer ranges. Lastly, I have a question, is this classified as a pistol or a rifle? So which perk applies?

      In 1.1 there are included damage adjustment addons. I can make tons of these addons, but I don't know exactly how much extra damage you want (either percent or exact damage). Range and Classification will be in the next update, but as of 1.1 the range is a bit further than I would like. Also, it is classified as a rifle in 1.1 which will be changed next update. I will add some addons to adjust reload speed faster too. Thanks for all the suggestions!

      Nice work! I think the damage options are a good idea. I still think the range is a bit extreme, personally I would clip it to about 70-80. I think you need to revisit the damage though, I selected the highest damage receiver on level 2 gun nut and I am still 12 points less than a regular sawn-off rifle and I selected max damage on installation. But please don't stop, it's getting there (:

      I don't understand your critique... this is a pistol based of the rifle, not a rifle. This should be positioned based on being a slightly better option than the base game pistols available at its LL entry level, not against rifles. (Not to mention, it probably/should use the pistol perks, not the rifle, so your perk choices will affect damage seen.)

      Ah, seems this is positioned as a rifle after all.. unfortunate.

      @filledb I'll add +40% and +60% damage options next update, and I'll also take the range down too. I want this still to be able to shoot medium range if, say, a stealth character is using it, but I agree the range is too high now. Maybe I will add a sawn-off barrel that increases damage but lowers range.

      @ghraki he mostly just wants it to do more damage, which i'm completely fine with. Personally I like it to be balanced like you said doing damage closer to a pistol (around 30 with .308 and much lower for pistol calibers), but damage increasing addons are the easiest thing for me to create. As to the rifle animations, that is the biggest irk that I have with my mod and fixing it is my top priority. I will most likely fix it next update, unless I decide to roll out an early update with some easier features, such as using pistol perks. Now that the creation kit is out, it will be much easier for me to trial and error the mesh because I don't have to launch the game every time to see a render of the pistol.

      EDIT: I don't see it as critique, I take it as a suggestion which I more than welcome.

      Mosin Nagant receiver is in update 1.1 to simulate Obrez. Enjoy ~300 damage explosive rounds, it's quite satisfying to blow people away with it!
