I have shelved my other Fallout 4 project for now, and I'm currently 'remastering' Ellen, with all the knowledge I've learned during the years since I made this mod.
Here's what to expect from 'Ellen, the Cartographer Remastered':
- Still female (lol) - Currently in active development - Will include more lines - Several lines will be changed to be more fitting to the game, and to correct my poor English. - Custom weapon and outfit (a custom retexture of Nuka World's Handmade Rifle and a custom retexture of a mashup I made) - Will require all the major DLCs - Likely to not feature potasticpanda as her VA (still thinking about it) - Changes to her quest, hopefully it won't be broken. - More things that I don't want to say (mostly because I don't know if it will work)
'Ellen, the Cartographer Remastered' will be moved to a separate mod page, I feel that the amount of changes made it absolutely need to be covered in a separate page. Don't worry. this 'old' page will still be here.
I'm *hoping* that this gets released this year. If you're still commenting and talking about Ellen, thank you so much.
Aww, wish Potastic would come back to do VA. I went back to FO4 to replay it with this mod and found it so funny to hear old Jeannie's "Normal Human" voice. Wish the remaster would include a remastered voice of Jeannie but oh well I guess she's busy with her stream life now.
Fantastic news, and thank you in advance! Ellen and Heather have been my companions in so many play throughs (good path, not evil) they are old friends. Please give us a CBBE bodyslide we can use, it makes it easier to modify clothing / armor to fit her if we can bring her body into Bodyslide and Outfit Studio. Or she could just adopt the Unique Player that would be ok too. Ellen is so cool, yesterday we were sitting on a couch in Heather's bunker and Ellen said to me, Do you expect me to fight raiders in this armor? Or something to that effect. Ok, ok, Ellen, I know its just like my armor and its kind of slooty. But its legendary+ modded and you haven't gone below 1/2 health on Hard once since I gave it to you. :)
Glad to hear you are still working on this. It is an impressive, major undertaking. Looking forward to seeing the Remastered version. Thanks for doing this.
I started a new fo4 playthrough not long ago and this was my fav companion mod so im really looking forward to the remaster. Thanks for all your hard work we all appreciate it.
When working on new version, I have one request to be included. Please make sure that Ellen will use any outfit given, and not respawn her orginal one.
It would be cool to see the mod remastered and working. It was a kick-ass mod when it worked. It now does not work as the quest just quits at Quincy. I wonder what changed as I have played it through 3 times. Now it just will not complete??
Hope all is well this holiday season hope the remaster is coming together I’m super excited about this seeing as currently this version of Ellen is the second best companion on the nexus so a remaster that irons out some issues will be a huge win for my LO!
hey author its been 2 years since you post this sticky thread when is the ellen remastered make a debut/releasing? because your old mod is good but kinda have a lot of bugs so i will wait till you release a new version of ellen the cartographer remastered this is a good mod tbh.
Will still use this original mod until make remastered mod come out. Worthy GOAL! Just don't leave us blind, guicool. At least fallout 4 will always be here due to replay ability! Hehe

Took a break from Fallout, came back to some Ellen updates.... I am impressed! You have been busy. A few of the problems with the quest dialogue and how Ellen operates is now completely fixed, at least for me she is. I've also been testing her with a few multiple follower mods and she seems to slide seamlessly into the active groups with no problems so far. Keep it up! This is absolutely one of my most favored companion mods if not the best one so far.
Your truly the voice of the best followers.. I still to this day use Recorder as my primary.. and now Ellen.. well I cant help but say "Well Record.. lets go.. "
I just keep double taking when I hear Ellen speak without a strange phrase from the ghost of R in it...Altho' I have found some fun ones.
The more I have Ellen as a Partner, the more I would like a Twin of her that is just like Recorder. I loved using Recorder in Skyrim, she was a fun companion and partner and she would be great working alongside Ellen. I use AFT with her so having her twin wouldn't be a problem if she was built like Ellen and not an independent like Heather (Who I also love having as a partner in FO4).

Now that would be hilarious, especially with her fart comment while sneaking. But, You you have have to talk to John Jarvis about her being ported.
Note that selecting her with the mouse in the console gives her PRID, not her base ID, and won't work.

Changing 0 to 1 will set her as essential again.
You'll probably need to figure out which "Ellen" is her, there will probably be more than one. The best way to figure this out is to save and go through them one at a time and try killing her and reload the save if it doesn't work. When she dies, you've found the right one.
Didn't know who voiced Ellen when I downloaded it.. knew the voice sounded familiar, super happy to have a Fallout 4 Recorder around. Thanks to everyone who worked on one of the best companions for Fallout <3

Update . . . a new game didn't work. And even with max affinity, it doesn't matter. I still can't have conversations that will advance the story. Oh well, enjoyed it on another character that I got to do the story on.
Since the original dev isn't responding here anymore, I'll relay his advice from Reddit about a year ago. If you have been to Quincy and finished her affinity quest (Ruined Dreams) successfully and maxed her affinity (>1000) but then nothing happens, try the following console workaround: Open the console and click on Ellen to make her the active target, then enter the following commands: setav CA_IsRomanceableNow 1 setav CA_WantsToTalkRomanceRetry 1
The next time you talk to her, the romance dialogs should start. I've had this happen with other companions too, Curie in particular.
It's a very small conflict resolution patch. It doesn't add anything Ellen doesn't already do. I may have patches for other mods as I go through my load order and update my modding guide. Anyway, I hope it's useful.
Hello awesome mod! Do you happen to have the quest ID? I need to skip it in this playthrough because it unfortunately glitched. I have played it through and enjoyed it on other playthroughs though. I think what did it was I went to quincy before talking to Ellen idk if that helps at all.
Fallout 4 still to be seen good companions like the ones we can have in Skyrim. I had a go with Ellen in Fallout 4 in two opportunities. In the first I did all main quests. As expected she rocks as a sidekick with some eventual stuck in-between which can be easily fixed just reloading the game again. Her personal lines are really good. I like it. As I was about to finish game, no romance; just the same "Ellen likes it", "Ellen dislikes it". In my next game, I used her with Darlene. Another pain in the a.s.s. Dismissing Ellen without having any settlement established will make her go to Taffington boathouse. Don't ask me why, she just goes. Skyrim is the game for companions.
I do love this mod. And kudos to the author that it works so well without updating for so long.
But as was said, it conflicts with other Quincy related mods.
The latest conflict is Sim Settlements 2 Chap. 3. Ellen still acts as a companion, but while the Quincy narrative plays out Ellen is unresponsive to it.
I hope Ellen Remastered is still a thing, even if she has to be completely revoiced.

For people using Valdacil's Item Sorting, user takatoriyama created a patch for Ellen as part of his/hers Radrose Usability Enhancements mod.
