About this mod

A Power Armour like suit that doesn't use the power armour mechanics in fallout 4.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
New Optional File - T60

I've added a version of the armour based on the T60 instead of the x01. This version is statistically the same, it just uses different artwork. Because the T60 model as so many holes (where the frame would be) i have used parts of my sentry armour to fill it. Due to this the optional file requires the Automotron DLC (the main mod does not).

In addition, this file adds a static minigun that can be worn as attire or used with a weapon swap mod.

Main File:

Version 2 (1-7-16)

This mod has been seriously reworked, you will need to do aclean install (as in uncheck the mod, load your game, save without the mod and
then re-enable). This is as there have been a number of changes to the way the
mod is structured, hopefully its all worth it!

What’s changed?

Different Suits

There are now 3 different types of suit, Combat, Combat withBackpack and Hazmat. Each has different meshes (although only the Hazard Suit
actually functions differently)

HazMat Suit – Functions like the other XA suits with alittle less armour and rad resistance comparable to a repaired Hazmat suit. It
also has the complete protection against ambient radiation (note you will still
receive some for walking through water).

Upgrades

The suits can now be upgraded. The helmets can receive power armour helmet upgrades and the suit can receive power armour torso upgrades.
This includes materials, linings and misc mods. Texture wise, the armour uses the T60 upgrades, so any colour that can be applied to a T60 you can apply here (although you still need the in game prerequisite)

The institute versions of the armour do not change colour, however the helmet material affects the headlamp and the body affects the vents
on the hazmat suits shoulders.

The helmets now have the PA headlamp attached.

The upgrades have the same requirements as upgrading a T60 armour piece in both skill and materials.

I have removed the custom suit, as you can now upgrade themain suits to use the hotrod textures if you wish.

The oversuits are still in the mod (suits that can be wornover armour). These can still be fully upgraded although they will be less powerful
as they start with no damage resistance. The Hazmat oversuits do have the HAZMAT Special radiation reduction (from ambient radiation) however you will still be affected by radiation in the water and rad weapons.

A note on these, it is possible to upgrade the suits fully to have around 200 armour (100 for the oversuits) and a heavy amount of energy resistance, basically becoming comparable to a single part of power armour. They are still nowhere near as resistant as power armour, but significantly better when upgraded that the original (could make the late game a little easier).

New Bugs!! – Yes I’ve introduced new bugs!

Well not really bugs, but some things to be aware of:

1 – You can mod the helm on back to have PA torso miscupgrades. I couldn’t work out how to disable these but it shouldn’t cause a huge problem
2 – You can add the jetpack mod to the armour, however thereis no model for it.
3 – The BOS Knight texture defaults to rusty for some reason(only on this armour)  Rusty texture longer displays at all, will do an esp putting it back if people want.
4 – this has been a significant change and I’m a complete amateur, if you spot something game breaking, let me know eh?
5 - you swim in this armour, not walk like in PA (i dont know if this can be changed (if anyone does, let me know))
6 - the impact noises when you are hit will be normal armour, not power armour (again i dont know if this can be changed, if anyone does, let me know!)

And finally

If you’ve read this far well done!  If you have any pics, please post them, its always nice to see them!

Enjoy.

Original Mod Description

Hi There

So I'm not officially modding anymore, but after having a little play with outfit studio i managed to make myself a fairly nice suit of power armour without the use of the power armour frame mechanic (which I do like, although i find playing in 3rd persons sometimes difficult with PA on and I'm not keen on a lot of the animations..)

Anyway, after posting some screenshots people seemed interested so here it is!!

This mod includes 3 "flavours" of the armour, these are :
Wasteland : this uses the original x01 textures
Institute : uses the original x01 institute textures
Custom : uses the Hot Pink Textures.

Any texture replacers you use for the x01 will apply to these armours too. There are no textures included in this mod. The black Enclave textures you see in the screenshots are a mod to the HOT PINK texture set, I have just included them in screenshots to show how this can be done.

All armour parts are both male and female compatible!

Each suit comprises of 3 pieces

1 Helmet
1 Suit - Armour that covers chest legs and arms, providing 25 armour to each
1 Stashed Helmet - this is an immersion item which shows your helmet stashed on the character back, it cannot be worn at the same time as the helmet for quick hotkey-ing

There is also a purely aesthetic "Oversuit" for each. This provides no in game benefit but can be worn over armour and outfits that prevent armour from being worn (such as the Hazmat suit (although expect some clipping with some outfits).

Finally I have done some conversions of the plasma rifle and Institute rifle from Weapons as apparel modders resource by Jigodie (http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/11212/?). Combined with Visible Weapons - 3rd Person Holster by registrator2000 (http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10317/?) this will allow you to see these weapons when sheathed.

Special Notes:

Due to the weird way power armour meshes morph when used as overarmour, I have disabled this on these armours. This means characters with extreme dimentions will probably clip badly. This will depend somewhat on the outfit you have under the armour.

Where to get them:

There are 5 of each items and one of each oversuit in a locker in the small white outbuilding next to vault 111. Sorry that's pretty mundane but like my modelling abilities, my understanding of the GECK is very limited.

Final notes:

There are some issues with the meshes which i will try to tidy up ( wont say where they are and maybe you wont see them!)

It shouldn't conflict with anything, however as mentioned above any skins you have for the X01 Power Armour may change the appearance of this armour.

Apart from that, I hope you enjoy it!
