THIS MOD NOW REQUIRES F4SE since V1.9!

    UPDATING INSTRUCTIONS
If you are updating from an older version follow these steps:

    - Open console and type stopquest pd_vreload
    - Exit console and wait a few seconds
    - Open console again and type startquest pd_vreload

If you are using a weapon from a compatibility patch, unequip and reequip it.

If the mod stops working after an update you can try doing a "clean save".

    - Load game
    - Type "stopquest pd_vreload_quest" in console, exit console and wait around ten seconds
    - Save and exit the game
    - Uninstall the mod (if you extracted the scripts to loose folders, remove those too)
    - Load game
    - Save and exit again
    - Reinstall the mod
    - Load game

Thanks to Zeridian for pointing that out!

Note: Clean saving was common practice in older Bethesda games, but in Skyrim that changed due to Papyrus language, where part of the scripts are embedded in the save games.
If you follow this method and are a person who check the logs regularly, it's possible that you see some lines pointing this mod, they are warnings that only appear upon loading the game and can be ignored. In fact even the developers recommend not paying too much attention to the logs.

Does anyone know if this would work in VR?

It works in VR.  It's not perfect though.

I found out by disabling and enabling different mods I've downloaded that the unofficial F04 patch changes the game so this mod doesn't work. Does anyone know how to fix this?

This angers me because Magazines are reusable... And if you did this as a soldier IRL you'd get chewed out by your C.O., because those things aren't cheap (relatively, no one wants to pay to replace the 10 mags you just threw out). Like, I just found a site, called ammunitiondepot, 15 round glock mag is $12.99.
Edit: Not knocking the mod itself, it just bugs me more then it should

a cool and immersive middle ground would be combining several popular mods into one mod where you drop the whole mag on a reload but whatever remaining ammo in said mag is loss(if any) BUT it counts as an item on the ground and you can go pick it up later after the firefight or when able, to recover the lost ammo.

Cool idea but that fact that npc's have infinite ammo and a firefight can go on for however long i want it to, I can only imagine the potential harm to my games stability. A good idea would be to have 100 max mags per cell and then when not just reloading, but also going some feet away from the mags location they would delete. As it stands I don't think this is a good idea, unless if I purposely die in tough long firefights instead of longing them out.

Why just disable the options for Npc's to have infinite ammo in Beth ini?

Because the A.I. is dumb as heck.
By default, NPCs only have 1 or 2 reloads. If you deactivate infinite ammo, they will run out of ammo in 2 seconds or less, and break in to melee attacks - making fights quite easy.
If you increase their ammunition, well, another problem arises:
maybe you will kill them too fast, and you will have thousands of spare ammo when you loot their bodies.

In short, there is no easy solution to this problem.

Good point, seems like a good idea until you basically see 5 mags in a pile where evry guy was shooting from haha

Late to the party, but I'm seeing a lot of Submachine Gun drum magazines floating in the air and I don't recall having any mods that would otherwise interfere with that particular gun. Has anyone else had this problem?

I just installed and tried this last night and it all works for me along with all the individual patches for gun mods.

Does this just work with vanilla weapons or does it work with mod weapons too?
