    Compatibility Issues Announcement:

For those of you who have large load orders and compatibility issues and who may not be aware, it is relatively easy to create a compatibility or 'merged' patch for almost anything using FO4Edit/xEdit once you know the basics.

It might seem daunting or too complicated for the uninitiated but most of it is just understanding what a few colors mean and then dragging and dropping things as needed.

There is a guide on the program here:

    http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:XEdit

    You can download xEdit here:

Support for Fallout Loot Overhaul will be in a lower state for awhile due to free-time issues, I will still poke my head in every once in awhile to check the bug reports tab. If you noticed a bug, please make a bug report (via that tab) so it will be easier for me to find them!

    Thank you for your time.

This mod does what it aims to do - rebalancing loot to make it more 'realistic', aka scarce - very well. Too well, in fact. I agree that the number of weapons handed to you is excessive and in need of reduction but with this mod, *You will never find a ranged weapon in a duffel bag, ANY weapon in a safe, and almost never in a steamer trunk (aka boss chest)*. Many or most of the preplaced weapons in the world are simply gone - i didn't get a single 10mm pistol in vault 111. it wasn't until about lvl 10 i could even use the ammo i found in the vault.

In practice this means that you will only ever find weapons on enemies, and even then, about HALF of all enemies will be using melee weapons instead of ranged. Meaning they carry no ammunition. As for ammunition boxes or armed enemies, i don't think i've ever seen double-digit amounts of ammunition.

I'm surviving because i'm using a mod of my own design, which fully rebalances the majority of weapons in the game to make them all basically equally viable at endgame, and having their own peculiar niche, so i can just switch weapons when i run low on ammo for one type, but even with another mod of mine which doubles all torso damage and multiplies headshots by 5x, i still burn through ammo like it's nothing. And while vendors now have lots of caps to buy your stuff, they seldom carry more than 30-50 rounds of each type of ammo (5mm being the only notable exception)

The mod is good, and i would/do/have endorsed it, but it really feels overly heavy-handed.

I know the mod is not being worked on, but there is one related feature I have been looking for, and would like to incorporate. I am trying to get raiders, to stop dropping COMBAT armor, but I cannot seem to find the LLs that governs this. A lot of 'scarcity' mods tend to focus largely on weapons, and when they do something about worn armor, its is usually to add MORE of it, not less. I find the frequency of raiders wearing high-quality combat armor much too high, and would much prefer my raiders dropping strictly raider-ish apparel, and not pre-war military gear. Leave the combat armor for gunners, and vendors etc.

As it stands, raiders are (nearly) as good a source for Combat armor as gunners. It would not be stretch to guess 25-50% of my settlers have full sets of Combat strictly due to RAIDERs. Something Id ld like to try and change.....

Does this mod make vendors buy your items for less and charge more for theirs?

I did not get this clear from the description page.

Okay just so I am clear... does pumping water from a standard water pump result in rads? I thought it was always purified. Thanks.

Yep thats the wicked thing about this mod, you actually feel like you are fighting for your very life every minute just to survive with basic needs, food/water and ammo.

It really is a real survival mode. But then again I am getting about 15% into the main story and already feel like my aquiring rate is ramping up for meds/ammo.

Myabe the mod needs to be more harsher mid-late game?

Why didn't you just make settlers crops owned so that stealing them would give you bad reputation with that settlement, get you shot!, and make picking crops generally give you most likely withered fruit, sometimes a good fruit, and rarely a seed? There is a mod that does that just (not the stealing part) can't remember its name at the moment. This would give consequences to a players choices and be immersive instead of just not being able to harvest at all. Could this be made into an option you could add to the mod for those like me who enjoy immersion? Otherwise, I love the mod as it makes surviving a real challenge when combined with other like minded mods! Thanks

You should be able to run that mod along this one (the only change FLO makes to crops is to make them unharvestable and reduce the amount of food they provide per plant). Use FO4Edit to make a patch if needed.

What is the name of the mod? I really want to farm still, I don't like the whole "No food for you" thing. Rarer food drops would have been better to utterly removing the farming system (As I never get food from settlers farming, nothing generates for me)

Description: Animal part loot drops off slain creatures require the Wasteland Survival Guide 'Hunting the Wastes' Magazine #9 perk, like their stingers and hides and so on.
