Hey community, let me start off the bat, that I know absolutely jack about modding. Only thing I know how to do is edit assets. And this is what this mod is. I'm a big fan of energy weapons but sadly I dont see enough love and attention given to them. So I figured I would fool around with the CK and go under the hood of my favorite weapon in the fallout series is the laser rifle. But disappointingly this weapon has always felt sorely under powered and useless imo. Until now... A few number changes here and a few clicks there and dear God... what have I done?!
Spawned from this fleeting moment of creative madness I present the DN-47 Galvatron Rifle. It fires what I'll just call The G.K.R.E Round or Galvanized Kinetic Radiological Energon Round. This weapon hits fast. It hits hard. It hits without mercy with a lethal combination of damage types that will wreck just about anything in the wasteland in a few shots or less... Guaranteed. Any feedback is welcome and you are free to do whatever the f*ck you like with this mod.
To obtain the Galvatron Rifle simply type help Galvatron 4 in console of the item ID. =) (As with any weapon spawned in console it will come with random mods attached)
EDIT: In credit given thanks to the efforts of fellow user NCRForever who added placement for the DN-47 in the gameworld for those of you who don't like the immersion-breaking console method; you have two additional ways of obtaining the DN-47.
1. Locate and kill Swan in the Swan Pond for the drop.
2. Clear out Big John's Salvage which is located near Schoeit Place and search for the DN-47 there. Keep you eyes peeled and your weapon loaded!
A few disclaimers:
1. This weapon is extremely powerful. Due to the overt nature of this weapon it is highly advised NOT to input an automatic receiver. Unless your mouse hand is a god among men, you wont be able to handle the recoil without your characters arm being ripped out of their sockets.
2. The Galvatron uses different projectiles than the default laser beams. However if you place any muzzle attachments on the weapon it will overwrite the edited projectiles and I don't know how to fix that. If the weapon spawns with a muzzle attached, please remove it to keep the desired effect. I have compensated with base stats edits to maximize range and accuracy without the need for muzzle attachments.
3. This weapon is OP and I'm aware of that. This is strictly for fun or if you're tired of getting wrecked in Survival difficulty and just want an equalizer to help you sleep better at night and feel good about yourself.
