Works very well with this. Tho it kinda of has funny effects with the optional parry. (Looks like you're waiting to attack, but just striking a pose that makes you full block mode)
Hello! There is a mod that allows folks to hold block now and maintain the block. But it doesn't seem compatible with this mod currently. I would give anything for a patch that would allow them both to work in concert. Can anything be done? https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/82059?tab=description
I've had been that mod up until 2 months ago (when I last played fallout 4) and it worked fine. Granted I never updated past the last update. Have you tried removing and re-adding the perk to your character?
The perk works by applying the ricochet chance whenever you're blocking, so something might not be applying it.
Hello, I'm not sure if you're still open to suggestions, but if possible, could you separate the functionality so that blocking simply stops bullets, while attacks reflect them?
That sounds pretty cool! Sadly I don't play Fallout 4 anymore. It miiiiight be possible though
So this works by rewriting the perk to go off the conditions >is blocking (been awhile since I've looked at the CK but I think that's what it is) and while >is blocking is up, the ricochet chance is increased to 100%, and resets when not.
In theory you could see if there is an >is attacking and set that, but with how the engine works I worry that the game might have trouble applying that every swing efficiently. It might work, might not.
If I ever come back to Fallout 4 I'll look into this, but sadly for now I've moved on. I just didn't want to leave you with no answer. I'm sorry v.v
any way to make it so that i can just hold down the block button, instead of constantly tapping it?
...also do you know if there are any mods that make the the Ricochet Perk able to ricochet every time you get shot? like, adding another tier to it that lets that happen or something?
I've looked around many sources to see if the block condition can be extended, but sadly it's beyond my ability to do so, but some recent mods that have been coming out give me hope that someone might be able to crack it.
I believe there are a few mods that make ricochet happen all the time, but I don't use them because I find no bullets hitting me Superman style, not very fun. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/12297 "Always Ricochet" That might be what you're looking for? In the original mod I had tiers, but they kept bugging out on me (mostly due to my inexperience with perk effect flagging) Sadly I don't really play anything besides ESO these days. PS. Sorry for late reply. I don't check nexus much these days.
Tested the real solution mod with this. The blocking system is mostly reliable when held against melee opponents, but it doesn't change how this mod works at all, unfortunately. Maybe someone will be able to merge the mods to allow this compatibility, but unfortunately are dreams of being Jedi are not yet meant to be.
idk if you're still checking this page, but if you are, would you consider adding a video of the new block/attack animation? Just an idea, I'm sure by the time you see this, I'll have tried it out myself, but it would be nice for future users.
Didn't expect such a quick reply, thank you for helping me out with this. I really want this to be able to bounce bullets, especially lasers, because I played a jedi knight this time. but so far whether it's the turret or the enemy's laser gun I haven't seen the bounced back beam, and the enemy doesn't seem to be attacked by the deflected bullets. Is this supposed to happen?
Edit: It turns out that I don't have the perk yet :D Once I got the ricochet perk, it works like a charm. Thank you Zentelioth for this brilliant mod and may the force be with you.
In theory you could use the addperk command ex. target them and "addperk 1D247C" (Ricochet ID) But that still wouldn't make them actively block when being fired at, since that would require some AI work I think.

The real solution for the broken melee system at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)
Hopefully y'all still playing, this mod above finally make Holding Block (as the creator claims)
Would be nice if anyone dare to test it
