This mod now included in my Recycle mod. This mod is still working as intended, but if you want to get not only your bottles back, but also leftovers of your food and chems, then try out Recycle!

Do you ever wonder why sole survivor always smash a bottle after drinking from it? Wonder no more, as this mod will teach your character to not eat bottle itself after drinking from it. Including such things as dirty water, purified water, institute water, drugged water, poisoned wine and of course Bobrov's best moonshine!

Every time when you drink something from a bottle, you are going to get appropriate bottle back (If you drink vodka you will get a vodka bottle, if you drink Gwinnett Brew you will get botllecap and Gwinnett Brew bottle and so on). If you are drinking the beverage that don't have an empty bottle model, empty beer bottle will be given to you. It's that simple.

But wait, there is more! Now you will receive empty bottles after crafting a purified water, and Immersive version will allow you to do this (and all from above) in a really immersive way! And even better, this mod is compatible with any other sorting or weight mod without a compatibility patch (more about that below).

UPDATE 1.2

This update requires a clean save. Your game is going to be fine if you are not going to do that, but some of the mod features will simply be missing.
If you don't know what a clean save is, you need to disable my mod (and only my mod) from your load order. Then you need to load your game save, save again with disabled mod, and now you are ready to update. You can find full change log in comment section.

This update brings some new things to this mod. I think, the change that most the people will be excited about is that now you are going to get 2 empty bottles for crafting purified water. You get only 2 because technically you get 3, because you will get 1 more after drinking that purified water.

NW version will now be called as "Immersive" version, and will provide same functionality as a main version, but in more immersive way. Now, after drinking a dirty water you will get 2 cloth, and after drinking purified water you will get empty can. Now, to craft purified water you will need 3 bottles of dirty water (as in vanilla) and 1 can (not a tin can or aluminium can, items called "can"), but after crafting you will get back 6 cloth (for dirty water).

IMMERSIVE VERSION

Immersive version is a same thing as a main one, but it is more immersive. Instead of giving you empty bottles for dirty or purified water, it will give you 2 cloth for dirty, and 1 can for purified. Now, instead of giving you 2 empty bottles for crafting a purified water, you will get 6 cloth (for your 3 dirty water bottles), and will now require 1 can (not a tin can or aluminium can, items called "can") that you can collect in the world, or can get by drinking a purified water. It's all the changes for now, but maybe there will be more in a future. Silverwave and GameDuchess has contributed they ideas to this version.

Remember, both version have same files, so you don't need to install main version before immersive one.


COMPATIBILITY

I made this mod to be compatible with any other mod that changes items, that this mod is working with. This is working because this mod don't actually change any of those items, it only adds a couple of scripts. So you can use this mod with any sorting mod, or weight mod, or even rebalance mod. Only thing that can cause a conflict, is a mods that change "purified water" recipe in a workbench. Everything else is 100% compatible.


Q&A

Q. Will this mod work with other mods that will add new beverages to the game?
A. Yes, it will, but there is a catch. It will work only if your mod use a keyword "ObjectTypeAlcohol", if it does, you will get empty beer bottle for that item. Other keywords are not supported, because Bethesda messed up really badly with other keywords. For example, Institute Bottled Water has a keyword "ObjectTypeDrink", but it don't have a "ObjectTypeWater", but normal purified water has "ObjectTypeWater", but don't have a "ObjectTypeDrink". Despite the fact that that it is a same items with a different name.

Q. I use some kind of a sorting mod, but when i try to craft purified water, it show me "Purified Water" instead of *whatever your mod shows you*. You need to make a compatibility patch for that!
A. No i don't. This is because purified water that you see, is actually a fake item, that i use to let my script know that you have crafted purified water, and that my script must give you 2 empty bottles back. After crafting this item, "fake" water will be removed from your inventory, and a real one will be placed.
