To everyone who says this mod doesn't let you refill bottles, what's happening is the game handles refilling bottles as a "quest" that runs in the background in order to get those scripts on demand. Any mods that mess with that "quest" is going to have a conflict. It's not that this mod doesn't work, it's just that you have a mod conflict.

You have two choices. You can load this mod at the bottom of your load order which risks other mods not working, or you can go in with FO4edit and merge whatever conflicts you have. Either way, this mod absolutely does work.

    Hi there,

Is there a way to make the recipes more survival friendly, so that purified water doesn't simply require dirty water?
    And that water doesn't heal?

Would be a great help, thanks in advance!

For anyone like me that has Survival Options, Everyone's Best Friend (the dogmeat mod), and Give me that Bottle installed at the same time, there is a patch a modder made that let me fill my bottles properly.
Survival Options - Give Me That Bottle - Everyone's best friend - Patch at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)

It would likely be easier to add recipes that convert the newly added bottles filled with water to the vanilla versions, which would not only allow it to cover vanilla recipes, but also modded recipes that use vanilla water, all without needing to make an insane number of patches.

I see a lot of posts saying this mod is broken, but I havent noticed it? Whats the actual issue? Or are these just people who had conflicts with other mods?

Considering this mod (specifically the DLC version) overwrote the 1 recipe that allowed you to craft purified water (can) outside of survival, how do you get purified water (can) outside of survival? As it is needed in other mods.

Please note, the only recipe this mod adds to craft Purified Water (can) is an otherwise unavailable (outside of Survival) item called "Dirty Water (can)".

    Praise be… realism!

Is there a version that just allows you to receive bottles after consumption without all of the water containers?

I've used this mod just fine years ago, but now it liturally broke hunger and thirst in Survival mode entirely. Worked as soon as I disabled it. May have just been a conflict, but be wary that this may be the cause.

In comparison, this mod is lazy. Something so simple should not break this much in the game. I used to like this mod too, it is such a shame this one is so popular as it ruins modded saves across the board. If you want a working bottle mod, do not install this, use Fill Em Up

There's also a mod on the main menu mod section of Fallout 4 (can't seem to find it on Bethesda.net, but then that website is crap at best and shite at worst...so.. [shrugs], whatever) called "well that just works" with a picture of Nicolas Cage looking his usual crazy self lol, that adds bottles from drinking into the game, and a few new chems and extra little things that fix the idiocy of vanilla. I've used it for a good year, and it's never given me an ounce of worry about breaking any other mods, unlike this one.
