Is there a way to customize how often you get hungry or thirsty? Because it feels way too fast!!

I agree it FEELS way too fast, but at least in terms of "realism" (we're in a totally unrealistic world so I know I shouldn't use that word) it isn't. The base times in the HC script are as follows:
      Hunger -
Peckish 6 hrs, Hungry 12 hrs, Famished 24 hrs, Ravenous 36 hrs, Starving 64 hrs.
      Thirst -
Parched 4 hrs, Thirsty 9 hrs, MildDehy 18 hrs, Dehy 30 hrs, SeverDehy 45 hrs.

I don't know about you, but it doesn't take me six hours to be just a little hungry. If I go a full 8-10 hr shift at work without eating I'm HUNGRY. Remember too that I removed ALL detrimental effects of hunger/thirst in the first levels, so you need to go 12 hours without food to be peckish. Perhaps "starving" is the wrong term to use for the last stage of hunger, since in RL it takes much longer to starve to death, but let's also remember that you never actually DIE of these effects. Now let me show you some lines from the script that effect a couple other aspects of time for hunger/thirst.

float Property GamesHoursPerTick = 1.0 const auto
float Property BonusDigestionHours = 1.0 Auto Const
float Property SustenanceTickWhileSleepingMult = 0.25 const auto
float Property TickHoursCostPerCombat = 0.25 const auto

You could change the value of "GamesHoursPerTick" to increase the time per tick (thus doing exactly what you want) but personally I want the time that passes to feel "right". "BonusDigestionHours" means you get a free hour after clearing a hunger/thirst level. Your hunger/thirst builds at 25% of it's normal value while sleeping and you get a free 15 minutes added every time you get in combat. What all of this means is that the game is already giving a bunch of bonuses. The reason it feels too fast is because, if I remember correctly, the default time scale of the game is 1:20 (i.e. 1 second in RL = 20 seconds in game). It feels fast because time is passing twenty times faster in game and thus those "ticks" come quickly. If you'd like to slow it down further I would suggest picking up a timescale mod, or a mod that enables the console in HC mode, to slow time down a bit. Use "set timescale to X" where X is the number of in game seconds per RL second (e.g. set timescale to 1 would be real time). I hope this helps explain things a bit...or a bit too much. =DAnyway, I'm done rambling. Enjoy yourself out in the Commonwealth.

edit: I posted incorrectly about the combat. Combat COSTS 15 mins of time, not the other way.

Necroing this thread to say thanks so much for the breakdown of what's happening under the hood and for helping me realize I just need to change the timescale to not feel like I'm constantly eating. Thanks a bunch! Enjoying this mod =)

I opened up both the normal and no fatigue esp in xEdit and they look identical? Did you upload the wrong one for no fatigue by accident perhaps?

It was just a small script change in the no fatigue file.  I don't believe xedit shows any changes in scripts just values.  I tested the mods on my system after the previous post and both were working for me.

Are you using both files?  If so, only use the file version you want (i.e. No fatigue).  I hope that helps.  :)

Working well on June 2020, it lower the pain that is the vanilla survival mode, if you are a bit hungry or thirsty in real life you don't become a fucking vegetable, thank you nice job! Endorsed.

I haven't had FO4 installed in a while, but I can't see this mod breaking. Unless there was a major change to how the survival system works thenthis should still be fine. These are just integer changes.

I like the changes to the first stages, Bethesda should have thought about their "approximate times" a bit more. Severe penalties are fine, but 6 hours for being hungry? Good lord, if you ate a reasonable meal high in protein (like a pair of brahmin steaks) you aren't hungry 6 hours later, you're *still digesting it*. It's like these people have never actually eaten before!

I like how you changed the early and late stages. The penalties at the later stages (in my opinion) have a larger effect on you. I really like both changes.

I did have a question. When you start to feel peckish in Survival you not only have some negative effects but also food quits healing you. I see you eliminated the negative penalties for the first rank of thirst and hunger. Will feeling Peckish still stop food from healing you?

I don't remember food healing you at all in survival mode. If the healing effect of food (or its removal upon being peckish) *is* in survival mode, I would think it would be run through the main survival script. I didn't change the main script, so any effects should still be in there.
