it's the best mod i have wanted, but if someone would take over this mod, pls make some changes, BECAUSE it's horrible for to see my settlers wash dishes all day without any changing just like what i do in my real life... so if it's possible to assign the settlers to do different jobs automatically from time to time, pls(i have tried my best to express my ideas in English, hope you can understand me.)

Just don't assign any settlers to the object. If it's placed without an owner settlers will randomly use it while AI pathing around the settlement. They will treat it the same way as a piece of furniture.

Cool mod, but ever since I installed it, Sturges has been chasing me, popping up everywhere from Far Harbor to Fusion City

You have some kind of issue with your load order. I've used this mod for years, and never encountered anything like what you describe.

Anyone have issues with settlers unassigning themselves to household objects? The water pipes one keeps getting itself unassigned. And dishwasher.

I hope someone can help. This used to work until the most recent update, now it no longer shows anything in the resource menu. I've downloaded the Settlement Menu Manager mentioned on the main page, and still nothing...

No, I haven't seen any mention of a bug fix. How do I run it?
I have just ran an option called Creation Club Repair, on that holotape, but this has had no effect.
Edit: I have just tried the Settlement rescue option as well, which has also had no effect.
Edit 2: I've just realised that I've now lost the menus for NWM Playing House as well. So not only does this not work, its actually broken one of my other mods.

Your problem might be you installed the mod without having SMM in place first. Still with SMM, the menu repair option should probably fix.  I'm using this mod currently and not having any issue.  You can also try installing Workshop Framework at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com).  It has automatic menu repair built in.  A lot of mods require Workshop Framework, so its not bad to have.

The differences are more stations and a menu under "Resources" added. Settlement Menu Manager is definitely worth getting because it restores Menu categories that might get lost through installing/ uninstalling mods that add menus to the Workshop. It works and it is harmless to use even when nothing is needed to be restored.

I'm guessing asking for a version without SMM as a requirement would mean to have your update redone from scratch and by then too much work to be bother (plus making it twice the work for any eventual future updates).
    Wouldn't it ?
That's too bad, amaeli is usually pretty fast updating her SKE patches for us to enjoy, but i'm not sure there's any point here.
Whatever Thanks for your Mod, already endorsed and that won't change, don't you worry !

That would mean u would have to use an earlier version. But u should really consider using SMM. It will be used in many mods in the future I'm sure!

Yep, i'm sticking with v1.8 for now.

I'm sure it will and it's on my Mod's List for my next playthrough, but right now being at level 117 with 1000+ hours spent, nearly reaching the 255 plugins limit (242) got to choose them wisely, and most of all i've got about 30 Mods or more for the workshop that i managed to play fine together so to be honnest i don't really feel comfortable messing with it at this point.

But that's totaly fine, no worries, Thank you for your fast reply !

I am also sticking to v1.8 as I do not see the need for SMM populating my loadorder. If it grows out to be an essential framework like AWKCR or HUD-F i will reconsider it. But i am not convinced SMM is going to be applied universal. There are enough scavenging stations in Housekeeping v1.8 to fit my needs, i surely will survive without the update.

To be honest, i do not like those workshop menu mods. Never had my menu go fubar either. Following instructions and tweaking faulty mods with xEdit is all i ever needed.

I do however understand why you made this choice and i respect it as it will enhance your workflow without any doubt. Thank you for your fine mod roboten.

I was skeptical about the new version too, because I don't use anything else that requires SMM. Gave it a try anyway and it works just like any other scripted menu add-on, no problems at all. Between this and Busy Settlers, my Resources menu was becoming awkwardly long so I actually like the new version.

Just a thought/suggestion, knowing what stations had been added in v2.0 (like you used to let us kwon) might help making up one's mind.

InAComaDial999 nearly conviced me (+having a look at the Mods he's been endorsing), might be willing to try it out but that would be nice to know what for exactly, unless you added hundreds of them and can't be bothered.

2.0 adds a dirty washing machine, a clean washer/drier, clean and dirty cooking stations with an oven and cabinet, a carpet for sweeping, a small table with hot plate and accessories for performing chemistry, a ham radio operator station (similar to the one in The Castle) and a preacher's podium. All are very well done as usual.

Thanks so much InAComaDial999 for the detailed information, that will definitely help me making up my mind.
I've got no doubt about the quality of robboten's work here (or robboten's work of quality, not sure which is best).
      Kudos for the help !

      Off Topic :
I saw you're using "Companion Infinite Ammo", you might want to have a look at this one as well "Better Companions - No Conflicts" by Recluse.

I mentioned this on amaeli's page, but the menu absolutely will not display in my game despite have SMM installed. This tells me something quite clear, that SMM is not fail proof. I have always found that moving items lists to the SKE menu was much more reliable; but, people seem hell bent on injecting these lists into the main menu, which seems to always cause conflicts regardless of how clever they think their method is. Often when I see mods try to script a category into the main menu, the items end up scattered all over in different categories. It's just a messy ass way of dealing with something that could be simplified so easily, because a more practical solution is already sitting there waiting to be used.

Nothing is fool proof when it comes to Beth games. Won't use SKE ever. It's obsolete and just too messy to use for development.

Hey guys was that all really necessary ?
Sorry to react but i don't like being associated with such lack of respect towards Mod Authors' work.

No one forces us/you to use SMM. And when i see nearly 35000 d/ls for only a few complaints it tells me that the problem usually lies on the users end.
No one forces us/you to use Housekeeping or its latest update. Mod authors don't need to be lectured about how they should do their Mod. Make your own.
No one forces us/you to use SKE. Despite what you may think of it (right or wrong), got any idea the amout of time and mod authors sharlikran has spent/been helping throughout the years.

      That's all folks.

You are right! I would like to add "for me" in the above statement. I'm sure others love SKE and find it very useful. But for me it just doesn't work with my workflow. Have tried but I found SMM so much easier to work with. Sorry if I offended anyone!

Don't worry, i might be the only one to get offended (and offended is a bit of a strong word as i'm no mod Author but you know what i mean).

I totally get it how it's much easier for you to use SMM rather than SKE.
Which is why, in the first place, i never asked you to (i do read comments).
Was only wondering if you would consider keeping a regular version (without dependencies), so that amaeli could do her magic.

But nevermind, i can live without it, you don't have to fulfill any users wishes (asking you for some extra work), keep making your awesome work/mods any way you want.

      Cheers !

It wouldn't be that hard to make a patch to use SKE instead of SMM. If anyone wants to make one they are free to do it! Just contact me if you do or if you have any questions how.

I don't know. Maybe it's just me, but it seems everyone wants to jump to the most complicated reason for the menu not showing up where it should. I use version 2.0 and SMM. It didn't show up for me, so I thought, hey, wonder if I put it lower in the plugins list what would happen.

Needless to say, it showed up just fine. Moral of the story for me; don't jump to conclusions and try the simplest thing first. Maybe it only worked for me and it won't work for anyone else on the planet, but give it a try.
