FO4VFRT is deprecated, please use VFRT2 instead! This version is no longer supported.

Description

FO4 VFRT is a utility that allows the user to easily find out the name of the voice file for any line of dialogue in the game. It is a straight-forward adaptation of the old Skyrim version, and for the most part there are no changes to the way it works.

To use, unpack the archive at a location of your choice, and run "FO4VFRT.exe". See the included readme file for details.

Main differences from the Skyrim version

  • data is generated by grabbing it directly from the game files, instead of relying on a dialogue file exported with the CK
  • only localized plugins are supported (that may change in the future)
  • the character encoding menu is gone, since now all dialogue is encoded in UTF8
  • new ability to play audio (select a line and click the play button, or just double-click the line)
  • new ability to extract audio

Known issue: high DPI modes are not supported at the moment (the interface looks weird, although it's still usable).

New in v1.2

  • audio extraction no longer fails when the folder %temp%\vfrt gets deleted
  • fixed a bug that was causing a blank error message to be displayed when fuz extraction failed
  • the data generation window now shows the names of selected files
  • added a "merge files" feature for merging data files generated from different plugins
  • added a "merged.vfr" data file that contains the English dialogue for the main game and the three major DLCs
  • amended the readme file

If you're updating from a previous version, just unpack the archive over the existing files and overwrite them. Let me know if you find any bugs or if you have any suggestions for improvements.
