   I have made a version of this mod that covers fat man and missile travelling sounds and also added vanilla sounds of each file to the Megumin explosion sound so you get both at the same time (this should fix to some extent the sound direction and distance).

      A year late but https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovZD5xRZC5A&list=WL&index=2&t=353s this video is a tutorial on replacing sound effects so essentially you would have to copy this file, rename it to whatever the original explosion noises are and replace all of them.

   Then sound volume is the same no matter the distance. I was mid battle, Explosion(not sure how to spell it with the accent) right next to me. I shat my metaphorical pants.

      It's the explosion sound file that's replaced, so hypothetically it'll work with all non-nuke explosions.
