Please be aware that I no longer play FO4 nor update the mod. The mod is only active because people asked me to make it visible again. This means bugs and other issues go unattended until someone else picks up the mod.
Someone offered to take over the mod but they haven’t (I can only guess they too are tending to other things).
If you wish to continue the work that Valmere and I have done, and take NSA to the next level, please send me a message.
It appears SMB92ks mod, https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/39575?tab=posts , has a MCM that, as part of managing other things MinuteMen related, also disables settlement attacks. I do not play FO4 anymore, I recommend giving that mod a try as it does seem to be getting current updates.
So for some reason this doesn't seem to stop Mantis from the Mojave Mantises mod from attacking my settlements. Does anyone know how I can get it to stop the attacks? It's literally just Mantis attacking and it's so annoying.
I’ve heard of Starfield having similar attacks. I have yet to experience them myself during my play through…so far. Plus, I don’t think the Starfield equivalent of FO4Edit is out yet, which is the only way i know how to edit mods. I’ll keep my eyes out though.
does it work installing mid game? i see people say both yes and no. im getting sick of this bs from bethesda. 500 defence with top tier weapons and armour? well shame these 2 drugged up raiders somehow bypassed everything and managed to destroy everything. ( somehow happens at every settlement )
each settlement has spawn markers sometimes in the center of the settlement so having walled defences can be ineffective , the problem about fallout 4 is knowing were there are , that is probably why 2 raiders got in to the settlement unchallenged .
yea true, i found that out with The Castle aswell with the permanent patrol markers. really a shame they did it like that. Hangmans Alley has it aswell. you can completly block it off but there is a spawn where they are outside the ''original'' gate. so it wont matter if you wall it in. installed the mod mid playthrough but have not had time to play and test if it works. maybe tonight if so ill post if it works midgame or not ( i think it would though )
This mod only stops the random settlement attacks right? It does not stop Preston from giving you these kind of quests?
Because i've been using this mod for years and several different playthroughs without issues when out of the blue Preston gave me a quest to defend Sunshine Co-op today. It might be that i was lucky up until now but this hasn't happened before.
First off I sincerly wish to thank you. Your mod literally saved my play through. I was busy doing the meet the department heads quest in the institute, when the nightmare that is "stupid f'ing settlement 394" is under attack popped. Thankfully I still had an earlier save. I then went looking for ways to block the Godforsaken things. Since to put it bluntly due to Bethesda's lazy approach to game development, it is quite often game/fun killing. As it stupidly ignores anything else going on in favor of something a whole lot of players hate, the settlement system.
Sadly nothing until this mod actually did what it was advertised to do. I was pretty close to just knocking the damn game off my hard drive. Since literally any time a moment of worth happened in the game, the stupid settlement system fired off. I gather that it's hard coded into the game itself. Too bad they didn't take the time allow for exceptions to the system.
From what I've seen in actual game play your work around involved blocking all distress signals. Since when I last left off I was in Big John's Salvage and, had never gotten the distress signal notification. In all truth for me it's a cost that I'm more than willing to pay. Yes the distress signels added a lot of color to the game. But the flipping worthless settlement sytem had on more occasions than I count s#*! all over my playing experience. Shining example the first arrival of the Prydwen to the Common Wealth. I had literally already just prior to exiting Fort Hagen had the flipping mindless defend the settlement that you never wanted message. So if I have to loose a little color to avoid something that I never wanted, I'll happily do it.
Thanks again for taking the time to make this mod. I am actually back to doin what I wanted to be doing, playing a open world role playing game. Here's to hoping these morons get that no one wants Minecraft in their role playing game with their latest release.

Is this intended behavior?
