Alright, I just figured out a way to get your robot model loaded onto a old save.
Now if you want to be one of the robots you need to only load the main mod, do not load any skins. now load your own save and change the race into the robot you want. enter setrace 1assaultron or setrace 1protectron or setrace 1sentrybot, and now it will be a invisible robot but now you have to save, quit and pick a skin you want for that robot and after you loaded it up it will display the model onto your old save, note you do not get any goodies doing it this way.
You can also change their animations by changing the race. if you turn a 1protectron into a 1assaultron, the protectron will be animated like the assaultron and will look badass while doing so. Pretty cool huh.

Theres a way to good the goodies without starting a new game. Just spawn a clone of yourself with "player.placeat me 7" then kill it and it will have the items u start with.

Sooo you can load the mod with a skin onto a old save that is a human if you do just that you may or may not be a robot but if you typed setrace 1robobrain or whatever race you picked as a skin and it will show the robots part as you change into the race.
Due to the robobrain have different files you will need to use the robobrain's main files to get it to work correctly if you dont, the midget robobrain will sink into the ground and everything wont be synced up normally.
Now robobrains is kinda short so i had to move the camera down a bit so you can see better.

One you enable the two esp you should be good to go! If you want to play as a robobrain you will need to download robobrains main files as well and enable it last, and choose a skin for robobrain.
After all thats done you should be able to play as a robot by either starting a new game or loading a human save and turning into the robot you picked as a skin or just skip the intro with "coc vault111ext"
If you skipped the intro you can rename yourself by entering this. "showspecialmenu"

To use the robot's weapons appeal correctly.. You need to have the robot weapon inside a container take it while in 3rd person.
If you take it in 1st person, it will not display onto your character. If you want to remove it just put it back into the container in 3rd person.
Some weapons have moore than one part so you will have to take and put back in order to remove it completely, a easy setrace change can remove it faster.
Though base on the race or hands you start with, some of the weapons arent animated correctly so a setrace change can sometimes fix that.
These wont be colored at all, if you remove them from your inventory, but starting with them might be colored correctly.
Hello. I would like to know how to work Moddable Robots - experimental. I installed the plugins in this order: 1.Playable Robots.esp. 2.Moddable Robots - Assaultron.esp. Next: a new game, setrace 1assaultron, placeatme 7, installed on the clone armor. So, what is next ? How to make so that upgrades would appear to me?
It doesnt work onto yourself, unfortunately, the only way to get different parts on yourself is do it in fo4edit. i set up a basic way to do it on my other may called "be a machine - playable handy bot. it works the same way. It can only be done in fo4edit, changing the parts and al, just look at the other mod and you can see how it kinda works
Using FO4 Edith I have to change some of the visual reservation in Assaultron - Dominator Skin.esp \ Non-Player Character (Actor) \ 00000007 <Player>. A player changes clone, It worked but how to redirect them to the player ?
Any chance you could make the moddable robots work using the workbench? Like were I can make a clone then mod it and then setrace to and it will copy my clone and turn it into me?

Is there any way to make assaultron head laser work? I have set assaultron laser as a weapon and created fusion cells. Assaultron head laser animation is executed (only body gesture no laser ray), but nothing actually happens.

Kinda got the CW Robot Pack Securitrons working but I also have no idea what I'm doing and just replaced Assaultrons completely breaking those while also not getting the weapons working properly, also the material swap thing for the screen doesn't work so I just replaced the blank one with Muggy. Not really a working solution but it kinda looks neat regardless. Probably not going to mess with it much more though as I'm not familiar enough with Fallout 4 modding to make them work properly
I've been trying to use this mod for an hour and a half, i dont know how to use it! its so confusing, can i please just have some help, i want to play as an assaultron.
When I try to play as a Sentry Bot it always T-poses and only allows me to move. It won't let me shoot, melee, jump, use rockets, he'll just stand there..... menacingly.
Ps : I already tried this mod but with Mr.Handy and it worked fine don't know why it's acting up now with the sentry bot.
Edit : Nvm just dont have both Mr. Handy main files active while trying to play as any other bot that isn't a Mr. Handy?? ( not sure if that's the fix but it fixed the problem for me )
I can't get the camera to cooperate, once I become a robot it's all zoomed in when I'm in 3rd person making it hard to see myself. I tried using the Life is Strange camera mod, but whenever i become a robot it resets the camera anyway
Okay I don't know what the hell anymore. I reinstalled the mod for a new playthrough and now a large chunk of the robot mods are not craftable. I had this working perfectly before, nothing has bloody changed. Hell, if I load the old save files, even with all the missing esps, the parts are craftable, but not on new saves. I'm just trying to craft the assaultron blades, but the closest thing available is shiskebab.
To summarize, can't craft assaultron stealth blade suddenly, no other mods installed.
An alltime favorite of mine, but just wondering is there any chance this might get updated for next gen? I think the update might've broken some things and made the mod a bit unstable, also, would you ever consider adding playable servitrons from the servitron mod? playing as a humanoid robot that isnt a synth would be sick regardless, thanks for making easily the most interesting and underrated mods for fallout 4, you rock

And I had to turn this mod off.
Its such a cool mod, letting us craft and curate our own playable machine, but dear lord, the bugs and crashes were just too much!
I found workarounds for many of the bugs. Swap my robo model when animations stopped working, same for when I would just randomly vanish.
But the crashes, my lord the crashes - its such a cool mod if not for the crashes!
I don't know if you will ever work on this again Abbalovesyou, or if you even can, but my god its such a cool, amazing mod that deserves more tlc.
