    Compatible with FO4Hotkeys.

    I highly recommend using Take Cover in conjunction with FO4 Hotkeys!

    You can grab the optional file in the Files tab to add a binding for <Shift + Right Mouse Button> to activate Take Cover.

    You can also assign the Take Cover activator to a slot in FO4Hotkeys' Hotkey Manager.

    Hmm, I don#t have the Holotape for this Mod. I use Mod Organizer 2 and have FO4 Hotkeys. But I don't understand how to use the mods. I accidentally activated the Take Cover mod twice now, but it was ingame while I was in a fight. So I didn't know what I had done. And I never find out how I actvated it. FO4 Hotkeys shows up in MCM but it's empty and there is no Holotape either. Too bad, this mod is so badass.

      Did you also look for the holotape in the aid menu?

    I see the activator mentioned so many times but I can't find it. If I have to bind it, then how do I do that? I use the optional binding key thanks to FO4Hotkeys but that's just to enter cover, right? Do I press it again and that's considered the activator?

    I found this works really well alongside Shoulder Switch Camera by using this FO4 Hotkey setup (actual commands set through Steam Controller activator interface):

    - Double-tap 'Reload' button (X) to switch the shoulder cam
    - Double-tap 'Pip-Boy/Cancel' (B) to enter and ext cover

    3rd Person combat feels like a whole new game with these three awesome mods working in tandem. Just make sure to follow the instructions on patching the Shoulder Switch camera settings.

    Does this mod have any incompatibilities with the alternative start mod? It seems that when I choose a start that's outside the vault I don't get the Take Cover Holotapes.

      The alt start mods, especially the one that rewrites dialogue, causes a plethora of issues. Uninstall it after you start in your new spot. That should fix issues.

    anyone else tried this with the gauss rifle?
    doesnt seem to fire. just charges

      Also, highly recommend getting a ba2 extractor in addition to downloading it on vortex. the load order functionality is a wacky mix of automation and tools meant to make things easier, but gits complicated from the depth of things it can cover.

      I love the concept of the mod but it's still very rough. While visually you can take cover behind a wall the enemy's bullets seem to have no trouble hitting you, like your whole hitbox is completely uncovered. That and it's just a general problem that Bethesda didn't to make the collision meshes for many walls 100% accurate, so even if the gun model is well away from any obstacles the bullets often collide with an invisible wall.

      Again, great concept and would really shake up 3rd person combat and make it worthwhile. You see NPCs use cover actions so much... it's really a shame it wasn't part of the base game.

    Great mod, works great for the most part.
    I do have one issue and it's kind of a big one, when I lean out with a two handed weapon like a rifle or shotgun the weapon is much lower than where the dot is and it results in me digging to china with every shot.
    Don't suppose there's a way around this?

    Mod works fine. Its a great mod and thank you for making this.
    Just to update this thread to help people as simply as i can to activate this mod:

    1)in console type : player.additem 0a000816
    2)open pip boy---->go to aid------> take cover config
    3)it will prompt you to reset
    4) open console type: cqf cover reset.
    5) go back to pip boy------> aid----> take cover config and enjoy. :)
